Yet Another KT Get-Together!

On Friday, I met with MADDIE_KY when she came to visit The Big Apple. We spent a wonderful time in midtown from Central Park South, through the stores on 5th Avenue, to the tree at Rockefeller Center, and right up to the top of The Empire State Building. NYC was in her finest for our visitor, and when we made it to the tree, it started to snow lightly (right on cue, I might add). ;-)

It's a treat you must give yourself when you have an opportunity to meet these fabulous people on this board!

Nothing better than a KT meeting, and to top it off, with Christmas surroundings and dusting of snow.

Well darn you both Flamey and Gravey, though I doubt Gravey will lose any sleep over it. :-) But who's gonna make margaritas now??? Nita, I figure I'll have the get-together now and when you finally do make an appearance in CA, it will just be reason for celebration once again. You know even though the Bakersfield gathering was, what, 10-12 years ago? My hubby still tells people about Nita, the lady who rides a pretty trike around the country. I wanted to bring this to the top again in case someone hadn't seen it. Judy said that people 2 and 3 hours away wouldn't come. Come on folks lets prove her wrong. I know that there are several who are coming from great distance but she was talking about the folks in MN that have never been to a get together. Folks these are really fun and you will be sorry if you miss out. Looking forward to meeting new people and getting to hug friends that I haven't seen in a long time.

LOL, Clare. But you wouldn't be "you" if you did! Anyway, the restaurant is The Whole Enchilada, in Moss Landing. It has Mexican-seaside decor, and is really beautiful. It has a nicely divided main room and a lovely patio, but it's too chilly now for the patio, where we took the picture. We all had Mexican food (I went for Tex-Mex, with a chimichanga) and afterwards, cinnamon coffee. What did we talk about? Hmmmmm..... the KT, and who's been sent to the teacups, and what other forums we visit, and our families, and on and on. There were lots of hugs and laughs. Did we feel like we'd known each other forever? IMO sort of. I'm an introverted person and it takes me awhile to relax with strangers, but I felt so comfortable. There are some remarkable people posting here!

Oh, how fun! And so nice of it to snow when you wanted, you must be special people, I mean even MORE special than normal, for KT'ers!

I think all these get-togethers are wonderful things!

Ruthie, Maddie has the pictures, and I hope to have a way to post them soon. I have still not been able to find a way to post of picture of myself here at the KT. I'll do my best!

Oh, I am sorry I didn't know you lived in NYC when I was there in October! My kids lived about three blocks from Columbus Circle.....but now they moved to Tokyo.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. We took our DD on about the same walk last December when we were there.

Maddie picked a wonderful time to come to the city and you were the perfect hostess - especially since you were able to arrange a snow dusting for your visitor! If this was her first trip to NYC she was really lucky.

Carol, I don't live in the City; about 20 miles west. It was fun to play hostess, tho!

Mcmann, it was her first trip and something she said she dreamed about for 30 years. She told me it was magical, and I was incredibly happy for her. Those of us who live so close rarely see it through someone else's eyes...it was an honor.
