Hi Peg, yep, it's that time to clean up, put away, decide what winter projects are needed. I need to do closets the most, make a big pile for Goodwill, etc. It's hard to get started, though.

I'm taking a box to fill for charity too! Great time to share with others since I understand many charities don't get as much in Jan/Feb.
Let's not forget the food banks either, now that the holidays are over.

I made a list about two weeks ago, and I add to it every day and check off what I've done. I have 218 things on the list and probably less than 15 un-done. Some of the jobs are big...like, taking down a fence and clearing the area so I can plant shrubs, but I work on it a little each day. I have a hard time staying hitched, so working off the list, checking things off, has really helped me. I hope to be able to tell a real difference in how much I can accomplish. It's a plan I am going to carry over into the New Year. I have plenty to do here...don't foresee running out of "jobs" any time soon.

Another good thing about the list...I have a tendency to jump around from one job to another, but on the big jobs...like taking down the fence...I can mark off each day that I work on it...maybe only 20 minutes at a time...and I am seeing progress. Otherwise it is a job I would (and have) put off forever because it was just too big for me to do. So it is kind of a good incentative and helps keep me motivated.

Good idea Marilyn. If a job seems to overwhelming, take it a little at a time.
Now that daughter and kids are in their own place, I'm going to clean up the basement, and organize it down there.
I'll tackle it a little at at time. Starting with her getting the stuff she still has down there, gone. There's a few boxes of stuff down there I've not unpacked since I moved in 7 1/2 years ago. I'm going to buy some totes and start sorting, and tossing.

I took five trash bags full of clothes and stuff to the thrift shop last week. Have cleaned out two closets and plan on getting busy again in the next few days.

Also need to get my big butt off the couch and back out in a pair of walking shoes!

Everything looks dirtier in winter to me.

The view out of my window right now is brown yucky leaves everywhere. We don't get the nice colors you guys get in the North. Just dirt brown.

I start "clearing out" after January 6, when I put up the Chrismas decorations. I did very little decorating this year, so it will be easier.

I did pull out a kitchen drawer and tossed a couple of things. I removed the fruit and veg bins in the fridge and cleaned under and behind them before Christmas so I can tell the "start anew" time is creeping in!

I'm constantly decluttering and downsizing, even though most everything is still in boxes. I like a light and airy feeling in the house.

YaYa...I do wish we lived closer; we'd waddle our "BBs" down the street together.

I just cooked our Christmas dinner last night...so after I gobble up a bunch of leftovers...I'll start anew with you...but first...on to the leftovers...my mouth is watering!

I want to declutter my whole house!! It is so hard for me to do. It seems as soon as I throw something away I wish I hadn't. My daughter calls me a pack rat. I am determined to lose that title this year.

Yep, I've been cleaning out the office, which is by far the room most in need of the big clean out in my house.
Since I office at home, I have both work paperwork and home paper work to sort and file or shred.
This is a multiple day task.
