The brass or bronze piece has two mounting holes. It has a grouping of 3 stars - may indicate rank or significancce. The nomenclature declares "commander amphibious force". I assume this plate refers to a landing craft or a "duck" style vehicle. It could have belonged to something like the "SeaBees". The eagle is carrying a rifle and the other item is an anchor suitable for beach and sediment. The weighted prongs of the anchor are pivoted and will dig in when dragged.

Good Morning :) WHEW!!! I am so pooped out with all of the fun things I have been doing lately~~~I really live a boring, quiet life, but lately WHEW!!!! My DD and I had a great time in Santa Barbara at her swim meet~~~ages 18-80!! Seeing the older gals in swim suits and having so much fun and looking so healthy is really inspiring!! They all have such good body image, in the dressing rooms walking around in different stages of their nakeness, not sure I feel that good about my body:( I want to tho:) My weigh in was good, I am down another 1.2 pounds?? How can that be?? I ate so off the program last week with my visitors and all:( I did eat breakfast and lunch good, and when we whipped out the snacks I never ate like I would have before WW's:) As I was driving away from my meeting I was thinking WOW how much junk and extra calories I must have been eating in the last few years to be carrying so much extra weight!!! I am down 22.5 pounds YAHOOO!!! I feel so great!! Down about 4-5 more pounds than I even planned on:) AND the best part is I do not even feel like I have been dieting, just eating healthy!! I just hope I can keep it up:) Since I do not feel hungy or deprived of any foods I think I should be able too eh??? I have two vacations planned one at the end of July with my DH going up to Tahoe~~~two days after we get back from there my DD and I are leaving for a world swim meet in Palo Alto Cali @ Stanford U~~~we will be there for 4days and 3nights then on to San Francisco for 3nights:) That my diet friends will be the big test!! If I get through all of those days eating out and all of the temptations of vacationing I will know forsure I have made a lifestyle change:) I did not make it to CRUVES at all last week, except to weigh in, my pre weigh in before going to WW's for my weigh in LOL!!! But, I was walking and running around everyday so I guess that has to count. I will get back on track tomorrow:)

One day or one meal at a time Ruthie and Lunchlady. If you beat yourself up over every slip you will fall down. You have both done so well but we all know that losing the weight is the easy part, it's keeping it off that's so very hard. First we have to let go of the idea that there are bad foods and good foods. If you go into a restaurant and observe the skinny people you will notice that they are eating what they want and enjoying it. The fat person is the one who is sitting there with the green salad and the lemon slices. Why? Because the skinny person allows him or herself to eat eat what they wish and don't make food an issue. They leave that last bit of pie on the plate because they know they can have pie again whenever they want. It's not special so it doesn't haunt them into overeating or lethargy. The fat person will eat his salad and feel empty. Then the fat person will give up and eat a donut. But unlike the skinny person the fat person will not just eat a donut or two. The fat person will eat a whole bag of donuts. In the fat person's mind the donuts are bad so he must eat the evidence. The skinny person doesn't care if the donuts go stale or whatever. He knows there will always be donuts when he wants them. No big deal=less big person. We need to learn to eat like the skinny people. Enjoy food without overindulging and move more so we burn off the excess calories. WW allows us to do just that. At least the 3 of us who are regularly visiting here are not on some liquid fast program or crazy diet that will leave us having to leave entire food groups out of our diets for the rest of our lives. Don't worry about bad days. Look at how you've eaten over the rest of the week. Try to focus as much on what you did right instead of beating yourself up forwhat you did wrong. LL go tear off those tags and PUT THOSE JEANS ON NOW. Ruthie go to a mirror and admire your new waistline. That's Wildchild's motivational sermon for the day. LOL I am feeling good. Last night was the first time in a couple of weeks I actually slept through the entire night and woke up rested and ready to go. I've had fruit and two small pancakes for breakfast and I've off to run errands. I promised the beasts they go ride along today since the weather is cool and they'll be OK while I run in andout of places. Only problem is they will want to go through a drive thru for a burger. Yep I buy my dogs a kiddie burger to share for being good. They are natually thin.*sigh* Tonite DD and I are going to the car races. Enduro figure eight and a demolition derby. YAY

WOW!! This is great you are over the hump!! I went online and put in my city,state and Red Hat Society and came up with 27 groups in my area. Over half are taking no new members. Four of them had websites so I lurked at them~~I found one that has two ladies from my quilt guild in it, one is even he Queen (what is that??) In fact I went to her 60th b-day party a few months ago and always sit with her at the guild meetings. Maybe if I chat with her they may consider letting me in:) BUT with so many how do you find one that is a good fit?? I would hate to join one and find out later I do not get along so well with the gals:( WC how do you choose a RHatter group????
