No further word from him, yesterday.

I DID call his wife, before I went to bed, and she said "oh, he's fine"! NOT!

Especially when you are so sick you get yourself up and take yourself to the ER at 4 am in the morning.

I did manage to talk about half a minute with him, just now, and it's almost 11 and he's still in bed. On clear liquids, and he sounds sick.

Said he'd call me later, when he gets to moving around.

If it is a virus as he says it is, I don't want him here, for my sake We'll postpone Gift giving until he's completely well.

Glenda, I know you're worried and I hope he's feeling better today. I'm biting my tongue about him having to drive himself to the ER, but I don't know the details. Maybe PSR didn't wake up his wife. But if you're so sick you need to go to ER, seems like you shouldn't be driving yourself. JMHO!

Wish your Christmas could've been better--but now you have a special day to look forward to with your "boys".

I'm sure that must be hard to do. Its too bad they had you worried sick the entire day. A simple phone call to say he was now home resting would have eased your mind so much. Definitely postpone and don't take a chance on getting sick like that.

If he is home it is probably not so gloomy as he thought and he might have taken something to knock him out so maybe that is why he sounds "sick" I agree with lisa take care . Sometimes kids . . . . .

I hope he is better Glenda Hard to believe he drove himself to the ER tho. One would think his wife would have insisted on going.
But you said she and her brood were at her mothers.
Does that mean you had to spend Christmas alone?

His wife spends Christmas Day with her mother. She was at home with my son when he went to the ER. Seems it was his decision to take himself. But then when I asked him, where she was, he said sleeping. Oh well, that's nothing I have any control over. They both are in their late 40's.

I dunno, I've always taken myself to the ER. I've gone quite a few times with kidney stones and it just adds to my anxiety if a friend/family member has to wait with me 6+ hours. I end up feeling guilty that they have to sit there and that I need to entertain them and I'd rather just enjoy my drugs and relax while I wait for scans and blood results, lol. Maybe he feels the same way.

Hope he's feeling better, what a rotten time to be in the ER.

I took myself to the ER and left hubby sleep. It happens. I couldn't see waking him and having him sit with me for hours. (I had an ear infection and the whole side of my face was swollen.)

He went back to work, today. Little weak, but he made it.

I've taken taxis to the ER in the middle of the night when my husband couldn't drive me. If I'm sick enough to go to the ER, I'm generally too sick to drive myself. I couldn't imagine driving myself to the ER with a bad stomach virus (I doubt I would make it there in one piece).

When my bowel twisted, I tried to drive myself to the er. (no one was home) That doesn't work! lol I made it a 1/3 of the way there, and pulled in to a church parking lot and called 911. You WILL get in to a room faster if you are delivered by an Aid Car or ambulance! lol Glad he is better

I am lucky enough to live 3 blocks from the ER. If I was too sick to drive, I could walk. My neighbor hates when I say that. She says I can always call her. So far I have been lucky and not been that sick when I needed to go to the ER.
