Funny of the Day (although could be offensive?)

At 85 years of age, Roger married Jenny, a lovely 25 year old.

Since her new husband is so old, Jenny decides that after their wedding she and Roger should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her new but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together.

After the wedding festivities Jenny prepares herself for bed and the expected knock on the door. Sure enough the knock comes, the door opens and there is Roger, her 85 year old groom, ready for action. They unite as one. All goes well, Roger takes leave of his bride, and she prepares to go to sleep.

After a few minutes, Jenny hears another knock on her bedroom door, and it's Roger, Again he is ready for more 'action'. Somewhat surprised, Jenny consents for more coupling. When the newly weds are done, Roger kisses his bride, bids her a fond good night and leaves.

She is set to go to sleep again, but, aha you guessed it - Roger is back again, rapping on the door, and is as fresh as a 25-year-old, ready for more 'action'. And, once more they enjoy each other.

But as Roger gets set to leave again, his young bride says to him, 'I am thoroughly impressed that at your age you can perform so well and so often. I have been with guys less than a third of your age who were only good once. You are truly a great lover, Roger.'

Roger, somewhat embarrassed, turns to Jenny and says: 'You mean I was here already?'

The moral of the story:

Don't be afraid of getting old, Alzheimer's has its advantages.

Well, its been thunderstorming the past 2 days since I started this thread so I still haven't been able to get out there and start the cleanup. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, DH pointed out to me that my entire newly-planted lily bed (of over 300 bulbs) had been ravaged by deer. These lilies were only a couple weeks away from blooming and were chewed right down to stubs. As many of you know, true lilies from bulbs will only put out one flowering stalk per year and if it is cut there will be no flowers that year. I spent a fortune on bulbs in the fall, not to mention the backbreaking labor and was so close to enjoying their long-awaited blooms. The deer have been a problem this year with munching on my roses but at least that rosebed are all modern roses that can bloom again....the lilies are done for. It's getting more and more difficult to not give up. Beetle season will be arriving as soon as the sun returns. But as DH pointed out, no matter what, I could never stop being a gardener. Its in my blood and in my heart, for better or worse. This year has certainly seen the worst! (sigh) Celeste Lily stalks chewed down by deer.....

Natal, I find it very interesting that you call ME out for use of a word in reference to MYSELF instead of one of the several other people in this thread who have used the same word to describe other people in a more negative fashion. Yes, I do call myself a redneck, in the same sense as comedian Jeff Foxworthy's "You Might Be A Redneck If..." (which fits most of my family to a T, and me too, to a level that many of you would find rather surprising). There's a great deal of his material on YouTube too, just put "Foxworthy" in the search box. For many years I was very ashamed of my background and lower-class family - who do quite gleefully refer to themselves as "rednecks" - until I decided to accept them and join others in reclaiming the word with humor and affection. (Contrary to popular belief, rednecks are not confined to the Southern US.) Many ethnic groups are now using normally-pejorative slurs as humorous in-group terms - see Carlos Mencia's use of the word "beaner" to refer to his Mexican heritage, but a non-Mexican person calling a Mexican a "beaner" would be considered very insulting. That's the point of in-group slang. Several times now you have interpreted tongue-in-cheek comments of mine as being serious ones (and often being rather snotty to me in the process). I shouldn't have to put smileys on everything I say, so perhaps you should just skip my posts.

Not offensive at all!

Reminds me of a couple (true story) in a Home. They both had Alzheimers and "met" for the first time at the home. They were walking around, holding hands and telling each other they wish they knew each other years ago.

According to their daughter, they ARE married, and fought their whole married lives, they just don't remember each other.

My Dad has alzheimer's and is in assisted living.
I do not think this is offensive. We all need a good laugh, thanks for this one.

(This is a true story.) My Aunt Dorothy was showing signs of dementia. Her daughter Marge was recently retired from teaching and decided to move in with her Mother to keep an eye on her. Every day Marge made her Mom a lunch and she ate it. But several minutes later, she'd be asking Marge "Is it time for lunch yet?"

Kathy, I'm sorry for you.
It's so hard on the family, seeing your dad, not like he used to be.

A know a fellow who's dad has it, and he's now a miserable, grumpy, bi*chy guy, which is the exact opposite as he used to be.

No offense here and I can relate to the story, not sexually, just memory wise. I often joke about reading the same book again or watching the same movie, it's a first time every time.
