NIGHT-LIGHT SALE. This is the time of year I write a note to myself to buy up a batch of Christmas light bulbs as soon as they go on sale. Then IÂve got my annual supply of replacement bulbs for my night-lights at a huge discount! I just keep a small box of them in the pantry for quick and easy replacements.

I usually pick mine up at the Dollar Tree or some other discount place whenever I see them.

Recently I picked up a 4 pack of the LED Night Lights (WM about $5).
They use up to 95% less electricity
Last up to 14 years
Cool to the touch
Mercury free.

At the bottom of the package it says Lifetime Guarantee...yet they last up to 14 years? Figure that one out. Made in China...could that be it?

I've seen the regular nightlights yellow the walls over time even though they are on an 'eye' to go out during the light time hours. Hopefully these won't do that.

I was going to use some Christmas bulbs for my nightlight, but changed my mind when I put one in and it started blinking! It didn't say it was a blinker on the package either.

It didn't bloom last night. I actually waited until all the house lights were off, took a small flashlight and brought the plant into my bedroom. Every time I woke up slightly I checked if I could smell it blooming. Nothing! Do they bloom shortly after dark or does one have to sit up all night? If so, I am not going to be able to do it. And as for light - how do all the guests at the plant-viewing parties find their wine? Candles maybe would not make enough light to bother the plant? a.m.

I checked mine yesterday and only saw a flat of marigolds for $5 I passed.. Its a good time to keep checking back.. what doesn't sell over the weekend and looks a little sad goes to the dead rack to make room for the new shipments. Often times its perennials that have stopped blooming, (they won't sell if they don't have blooms) or annuals that have been over watered and look terrible. Doesn't take much to bring them back to life. I can't wait for those double impatiens to come in, so I check often this time of year. I gladly pay full price for a few.. then look for them on the dead rack a few weeks later. Here is a link that might be useful: they look like little bitty roses!

we actually went out yesterday evening to gander mtn for DH for gun stuff. he hates shopping but couldn't pass up their deals lol. today was cold for me, 73 and cloudy and gloomy, not conducive to shopping for me but i did get out to target, lowes and borders. got a bunch of stuff (thou nothing for gifts lol) including some 1000 thread ct sheets for only $60 on the set, even their reg price at $120 is a steal for that tread ct. got a bunch of christmas music CD's, my splurge since we find music for free online. i already bought stuff online yesterday and dh is taken care of already, an antique rifle we got last month. i didn't get up at the crack of dawn, there are no stores outside of NYC or chicago i do that for LOL esp not if the temp is under 80, those places don't do sales anyways lol. i thought the shopping traffic and the stores were really not busy, i was very surprised. i thought for sure by 9am all the things i wanted to pick up would be gone but the only thing i missed out on was a rubbermaid wreath storage box at lowes for $5. i'm ordering all my gift things online so my shopping in stores is pretty much done unless i find more good deals. we pretty much have all we want or need so there's not much to tempt me out there which makes shooping days like today kinda boring lol, i wish i needed some of those things just to shop LOL ~ liz

Exactly the same here. But the Christmas bulbs are colored,so it looks a little odd to have a red or blue nightlight next to your bed.

Walmart always has the clear bulbs. Four bulbs to a package and they get marked down to 10 cents.
I think I still have about 6 packages I bought last year.
I never buy regular night light bulbs.

Just had to laugh at the thought of this night light blinking off and on....knowing me I think my first thought would be that something is wrong with the outlet. I have the night lights all over the house because my fear is...are you ready for this....the dark! So my whole house would be blinking off and on, hopefully in time with each other....LOL

Blue is for when you have the blues ...

... red for when you're feeling hot.

Intermittent is for when you're not quite sure whether you're in that condition or not.

Can you imagine the jerky steps of someone walking through the house ... to the tune of blinking lights?

And if you think that they'll all bling in unison ... you're dreaming in technicolour!

(Sorry, I hit the rong key ... but thought it too good to edit.) Well ... maybe you're just an optimist!

Except when I (rarely) have a guest, I hardly ever use a night light. Light from the yard light shines into the bedroom(s) and the bathrooom, so offers general guidance. I pretty well know where the pathways are.

Good wishes for being well lit, late at night, everyone. But ... if you're that well "lit" - please don't drive!
