I made Moni's mini sock ...pics

I had a bit of trouble with the pattern at the heel flap. No matter what I did, I couldn't come up with the second two sts to be put on another needle. I just did the heel flap like I do a regular size pair of socks. I think it came out cute! I'll make more when I have time.

Those are so cute. If I could knit, I'd knit one for my gift cards I'm giving this year, and hang them on the tree.

way to go, Tami! They look nice. I haven't made any yet. Still working on the sweater for daughter number one. Got the body done, and am at the underarm pit for the first sleeve.

For tasting dragon's blood! Seriously....sort of. I think it's a "cordial set"...and looks to me like it's been sprayed silver....try a little nail polish remover and see if it removes the silver "paint"....and may be pewter....there are lots of sorts of pewter....some contain lots of lead, some none at all, some lots of tin, some antimony....so it could be something like that. It's...."interesting".... LOL!

Zipper, thank you for the pats -- I needed that! bigack, you're going to have to keep looking! (don't put finding them on your bucket list!) Lydia, Your color must be perfect! They are a bit bright for me! They really aren't warm and in MN I need warm. Yes, I USE socks, but these really aren't comfy on my tender little tootsies. lol I can feel the yarn! If I remember, in the morning when my feet aren't swollen, I might snap a picture.

I think the addition of the stripe might not be approved by DS. I think it might take it that one step beyond looking pulled together and looking "decorated". But I will let him choose when he returns next week. He hasn't seen the room finished. Even though he chose the individual elements and has seen the room painted, he hasn't seen everything in the room. I offered photos but he wants to be surprised. That's why I haven't ironed the duvet yet, just in case he hates it in person. I went to the fabric store today to pick up some options. I found a gray linen that is very close to the background color of the drapes and would work the best if I added stripes. I also picked up a heavy matelasse type of fabric per a couple suggestions above. This one is the wall color and has a little circle theme. Yeah I know....i'm supposed to be moving away from that but I think it could be a contender as it's rather subtle. I picked up one other that I'm not sure how to explain but I don't really like. I also purchased a 1/2 yard of charcoal silk to use to make cording for the pillows and decided to see how that would work so I'm attaching photos for your thoughts. charcoal silk...I like the contrast with everything else and since I am using it to edge the throw pillows made out of the circle fabric, it would tie in. Unfortunately, they are rather stingy with their samples and have a minimum 1/2 yard purchase requirement... I couldn't find anything heavy except the circle fabric. The linen is rather "stiff" though and would hold a box pleat really well.

Moni, I am still working on Mom's shrug for Christmas! I am sending this as a gift, or I wouldn't have made one yet, either!

Leslie, you need to join the knitting class at Mingo's when we do it! It really isn't hard at all.

Moni, I wonder how much we can confuse everyone we teach with you teaching Continental style, and me teaching English style!

I had an idea a few minutes ago. How about making one and using it as a key chain?

I would love to join the knitting workshop!! I have family in the general area too. I think a keychain is a great idea. I like the idea of tree decorations, package decorations or a lapel pin.

I made some when Flamey first posted the pattern. They are especially cute when you use self striping sock yarn, as you can see. I think they would be cute on the tree with a few hard candies for the kiddies in each one. My mom used to describe the cornucopias on her girlhood tree--a cone of fancy paper and beads filled with little candies and hung on the tips of the large branches for the children of the family and any visitors too.

I plan to put a few on our tree and may add some treat for our grandson. The original pattern had a wreath made out of the little socks all in many different colored, striped yarns. Too cute.
