This is fun! How many have you visited?

I scored 48, which was two stars. My family has been to many more-Russia and Amsterdam to name two I remember. Looks like I'll have to step up my travels. Where have you travelled?

Here is a link that might be useful: 100 places to visit

I have not traveled that much but did see I have been to seven of the places shown.
Washington Monument
Times Square
White House
Statue of Liberty
Smithsonian Institute
Las Vegas Strip
Gateway Arch
I did not look at all the pictures as it was taking way too long for my computer to load in.

About a dozen, but only because it was heavily weighted to the west (and east) coast and I lived on the west coast.

How many pets do you have? How many is 'too many'?

i lost my senior great dane girl 5 weeks ago to bone cancer. it was sudden and shocking and i still look for her. my remaining dane girl and eden were joined at the hip, pip took the loss very hard and had been grieving so much, it broke my heart. i contacted pip's breeder and one of her former co-owners and asked that they keep an eye out for any adults that any breeder friends might be considering a new home for (retired show dogs, etc.). the co-owner gave me the contact information for one of her people who had a dane boy she had been looking for just the right home for and the rest is history. meet "flighty foto my way", call name "frank". frank will be 4 years old on 5/31. he is a very sweet boy and he and pippin hit it off immediately at our meet 'n' greet friday. they do zoomies numerous times a day, sleep curled up together and are just a perfect pair. pippin is so much happier and that makes me happier. even though i miss eden terribly, i am beginning to heal now that pip is feeling better. frank is a bit on the thin side because he lived the last 4 weeks with a female dane who was going through a heat cycle and when that's going on, intact males ignore food, do a lot of pacing and fretting and routinely lose weight. he's eating like a horse so i'm confident he will gain and be back to his normal weight soon. i'm giving him a few weeks to settle in and then i'll make an appointment to have him neutered.

OT - Too many cleaning products - How many do you have?
Q
Comments (28)
I won't even begin to list how many cleaning products are in my house. It's. Absolutely. Terrifying. That being said, I'm working on getting rid of much of it and using more natural/earth friendly methods. One thing that I am having a tough time giving up is my toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. I just haven't found anything that makes me feel like the toilet is as clean as when I use some bleach based product. Just mixed up a batch of baking soda, essential oils (eucalyptus and peppermint), a little bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid, and enough water to make a paste. This was used to scrub the tub which gets absolutely horrible because it's an old porcelain tub (but the finish was messed up from the previous owners)...it got it as clean as the harsher cleansers I've used with about the same amount of effort. Bonus is that it smelled lovely, way better than most cleaning products you can buy in the store. Looking forward to hearing more about some of the alternate cleaning products that people use.

How many best friends do you have?
Q
Comments (30)
Going by what Lazypup said, and i do agree with her. I have one very best friend, and we have been each others best friend for almost 50 years. We have never had an arguement. I first met lupe when we were transferred to Ca(DH was a marine)When we got our first apt she lived next door.We both had young kids then, she 6 girls and me 3 boys and i was pregnant with DD. We first spoke over the back fence as we were both hanging clothes,no dryers back then.We hit it off right away.We baby sat for each other, when needed, helped each other out whenever we could. And believe me she was there for me a lot when dh was deployed to viet nam. Our relationship grew over the years and is still blossiming. She has been there for me and i for her thru thick and thin, sickness and in health, and everywhere in between. We still go out to lunch off and on ,we invite each other and our families to each others family functions, and our kids have always called each other cousins, and still do.They greet each other with "Hi Cuz",and a hug. She truly is a best friend!! I have 6 others that i have been very close to for almost as long and one even longer, but most of them don't live close by.lupe and i still live just blocks apart,we both have grand and greatgrand kids now. How many hosta did you have before you realized you were addicted?
Q
Comments (33)
Even though I said "2" I think the really honest answer would be that I was addicted before I bought even one because I found this forum and was blown away by all your gardens and those of a couple we have lost since then. I don't share much because my gardens don't hold a candle to others here-for example, almost every hosta I planted on our hill has been washed away with the rains this year, along with the mulch and much of the soil. I always seem to be trying to repair and replace all the failures. At least I am doing my part to keep all our nursery friends (the Boyz at Naylor Creek, Hallsons, NH Hosta, etc.) in the black.

1. I have to say that there are quite a few places I have been that were not listed. Corcovado is listed but not Sugar Loaf (in Brazil). The Louvre but not the Eiffel Tower. And not the Liberty Bell! Still, I would love to travel to more of the places listed.

I thought I saw the Eiffel Tower on the list. Maybe...

Only have been to 20 of the listed places but I don't feel to bad about it. There are so many other places to visit not on there. 100 places, that's only the tip of the iceberg. Was Yellowstone even on there? Hanama Bay in Hawaii, Carlsbad Caverns?
Many places in DC not mentioned. We could list a whole book I'm sure!

Slinking in to say only 5, and 3 of those were in my hometown of NYC. But the only place on that list I'd really like to visit is the Galapagos Islands.

17 but have been close to a few more...like drove right by the St. Louis Arch many times. Didn't count it since I've never actually walked up to it. Been near Napa Valley, possibly even drove through it but not sure...and near or through Death Valley but again I didn't count it. I almost went to Jeruselum when I was TDY in Israel but got scared when they told us we'd be sleeping in a park in Tel Aviv on the trip, surrounded by armed guards. Nothing happened but about 6 months after we left that country a 16 year old girl died in the resort we visited on the Dead Sea. They had metal detectors you had to go through to get inside and to the water. I was already freaked out because we had a commander's call and then a day or two later had another one so they could tell us they intercepted terrorists who found out we were TDY there...on a TDY that no one was supposed to know about.

dedtired,

The Eiffel Tower is on the list. Although I agree that the list is somewhat weird in their selections of things to include, especially when they have several from the same city.

My Eiffel Tower story: I grew up in Cincinnati, which is where the King's Island Amusement Park is located. One of the attractions at the park is a 1/3 scale replica of the Eiffel Tower, which is relatively easy to see from the interstate that passes by the park. As kids we would always try to be the first one in car that saw the Eiffel Tower replica as its tip appeared over the trees. We would point, and shout "The Eiffel Tower! I saw it first!"

Years later, just after I graduated from college, my brother planned a trip for the two of us to travel and backpack around Europe for about 7 weeks. On one long day of travel involving an overnight ferry from Ireland to France and a train trip from there into Paris, I was sitting on the train, dazed, and dozing off, when my brother shakes me awake, laughing and shouting excitedly: "The Eiffel Tower! The REAL Eiffel Tower! I saw it first! Ha ha! I saw it first!
