Kalie is off of work this morning because of the ice, so she is wrapping gifts. She just sent this and said that she has had GREAT helpers! These 2 can't wait until she gets them wrapped to check them out, and the other one lays on the paper while she is trying to wrap! CATS...gotta love 'em! LOL

Thank you. one of my favorite past times in New Mexico was wandering around remote areas just seeing what there was to see. I sure miss those days, especially when it's 10 degrees and there's a foot of snow on the ground here. I'll see what else I can dig up.

Hi Ron, Montezuma's Castle is between Phoenix and Sedona on I17. Here is a link to it. I have been there several times and it is beautiful. This is not a cliff dwelling that you can go into you stand at the bottom and look up at it. I really enjoy Mesa Verde Ruins in Colorado since you can actually walk down into them.

Montezuma's Castle is in central Arizona - not built by Montezuma, and not a castle, though. I love the southwest - DH and I have family there - love the Arizona trips!

Thank you for the links to Montezumas castle, nita and scraphappy. I'll have to get there someday. There are some very extensive indian ruins in old Mexico, also that we visited when we lived down that way.

Ron - where did you live in NM? My mother is from Fort Sumner and we spent our summer vacations visiting relatives in Santa Fe, Clovis and Taiban (which isn't there any longer). We used to explore Stinking Springs (where Pat Garret captured Billy the Kid) and the Indian reservations around Taos, and took trips to Carlsbad Caverns, the Sangre de Cristo mountains and generally had a great time just playing in irrigation ditches and trying to catch 'horny' toads. Haven't been back since I was 17 but would love to return someday.
