Need a good crab dip recipe

My sister that lives in Maine has a small crab processing business. She brought us a small container of fresh (frozen) crab meat several weeks ago, and I'd like to make a crab dip or something out of it. Does anyone have a good recipe to share?

This is from Copykats, Joe's Crab Shack Dip

2 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
4 tsp. Diced Yellow Onion
1 Tbsp. butter (softened)
4 tsp. Finely Diced Green Pepper
1/4 Cup Sour Cream
1/4 tsp. Seasoned Salt
1/8 tsp. Paprika
1 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
1/4 C. Shredded Mozz. Cheese
1 (6 oz.) can/fresh Crab meat
Fresh diced green onion (garnish)
Fresh hoopped parsley (garnish)

Steps:
Mix cream cheese, mayo, sour cream and butter until smooth. Blend in seasoned salt and paprika. Stir in yellow onions, crab meat, green pepper, and mozz. cheese. Place in a lightly greased small shallow baking dish and place in a preheated oven at 350Â° until mixture bubbles, about 10-14 min. Serve dip with unsalted or very lightly salted corn chips. This will serve 2 to 3 or makes a great light lunch with a crisp salad.

I use 2 cans of crabmeat, dice a small onion, 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard, 2 blocks of cream cheese. Mix it well, refrigerate, form into a ball and place it on a plate lined with red lettuce. Garnish with a bit of cocktail sauce and sliced lemon. I serve extra cocktail sauce on the side.

Cream, Here is a recipe that Sue shared on the forum a few years ago. I haven't tried, but I know that if Sue recommended it it must be good. Hot crab dip ============ Sue's Recipe I made this hot appetizer for our tree trimming last night and it was very good. It's a Kraft recipe that came with a periodical I get from time to time (don't know why) from Kraft. It called for canned crab, I believe the kind you buy in the grocery store. I used Costco's canned Blue Fin crabmeat and it was delicious. 8 oz. reduced fat cream cheese, softened 1/3 C. mayo 1 C. Shredded swiss cheese 2 chopped green onions Fresh ground pepper . Mix ingredients and spoon into an ovenproof crock. Bake at 350Â° for 15 minutes, stir and bake another 10 minutes. To brown the top, broil for 2-3 minutes. Serve with hearty crackers and celery and endive dippers. Yu can also top this with toasted sunflower seeds to give it a bit of crunch. i am sure there are a million things you can do to vary the recipe.

Oh my goodness Brad - those pans of crab dip are making me drool! Any chance you could ship one to me in British Columbia? I love crab and we can catch them here on then west coast of B.C. Here's a recipe you might like - I make them and freeze them and then just a few minutes in the oven and they're ready to go! 6 English muffins, cut in half (Thomson work best) 1 stick butter 1 jar Old English cheese spread 1 1/2 tbsp. mayonnaise 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (6 oz.) pkg. crabmeat, thawed & drained of imitation crab Combine butter (softened), cheese spread and mayonnaise. Add garlic powder, salt and pepper and crab meat. Spread mixture on muffin halves and cut each half into fourths. Place on cookie sheet and freeze. When frozen place in plastic bag, keep frozen until needed. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. This recipe may be made in advance and frozen.

Buffalo Chicken Dip â¨4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs) â¨1 12oz. bottle Frank's Hot Sauce â¨2 8oz pkgs. cream cheese â¨1 16oz. bottle blue cheese salad dressing (or Ranch if you prefer) â¨8 oz shredded sharp cheddar, Mont. Jack or a combo â¨Boil chicken until cooked through, shred with 2 forks. Preheat oven to 350. In a 13x9, combine chicken with hot sauce and spread evenly. In a large saucepan over med. heat, combine the cream cheese and dressing, stirring until smooth and hot. Pour evenly over chicken. Bake uncovered for 20 min., then sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake uncovered for another 10 min. Let stand 10 min. before serving If you want to have a milder dip just use half a bottle of the Frank's Hot Sauce. This is also great just spooned onto the plate and eaten with a fork.

Great recipes, Ilene! I especially love the quesadilla one! That's what I had yesterday for lunch, but I sprinkled cheese over the tortilla, heated it to melting in the microwave, spread salsa on one half and folded it over. Two of the 6" La Tortilla's made a terrific lunch! Thanks for posting the recipes. I've borrowed Dana Carpender's 500 Low Carb Recipes book from my library and it's full of good recipes. This one works for crab or shrimp:

1 cup crab or shrimp
1 cup grated cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup mayo
salt + pepper
tobasco

Mix and chill. Serve with crackers.

* I have even used the leftovers as a filling in grilled cheese sandwich. Yum!

This one is simple and got me a marriage proposal!!!

Crab Dip
11 oz cream cheese
1 tsp worstershire sauce
1 tbsp finely chopped onion

Cream all ingredients until smooth.

Spread in 9 or 10 inch pie pan.
Top with cross & blackwell seafood sauce.
Sprinkle top with one can crab meat.
Chill serve with crackers. (triscuits are best.)
