Need a good crab dip recipe

My sister that lives in Maine has a small crab processing business. She brought us a small container of fresh (frozen) crab meat several weeks ago, and I'd like to make a crab dip or something out of it. Does anyone have a good recipe to share?

This is from Copykats, Joe's Crab Shack Dip

2 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
4 tsp. Diced Yellow Onion
1 Tbsp. butter (softened)
4 tsp. Finely Diced Green Pepper
1/4 Cup Sour Cream
1/4 tsp. Seasoned Salt
1/8 tsp. Paprika
1 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
1/4 C. Shredded Mozz. Cheese
1 (6 oz.) can/fresh Crab meat
Fresh diced green onion (garnish)
Fresh hoopped parsley (garnish)

Steps:
Mix cream cheese, mayo, sour cream and butter until smooth. Blend in seasoned salt and paprika. Stir in yellow onions, crab meat, green pepper, and mozz. cheese. Place in a lightly greased small shallow baking dish and place in a preheated oven at 350Â° until mixture bubbles, about 10-14 min. Serve dip with unsalted or very lightly salted corn chips. This will serve 2 to 3 or makes a great light lunch with a crisp salad.

I use 2 cans of crabmeat, dice a small onion, 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard, 2 blocks of cream cheese. Mix it well, refrigerate, form into a ball and place it on a plate lined with red lettuce. Garnish with a bit of cocktail sauce and sliced lemon. I serve extra cocktail sauce on the side.

Hope this helps! ;) Nuoc Cham (Vietnamese Dipping Sauce) by Mai Pham Keep a jar of this sauce in the refrigerator; it will last for a month. You can find ground chile paste (my favorite is Rooster brand) and fish sauce at many supermarkets but always at Asian groceries. Yields 1-1/2 cups. 1 clove garlic 2 to 3 Thai bird chiles (or 1 small jalapeÃÂ±o or serrano chile), cored, seeded, and minced; more or less to taste 1/2 tsp. ground chile paste; more or less to taste 2/3 cup hot water 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup fish sauce 2 Tbs. fresh lime juice 2 Tbs. shredded carrots (optional) In a mortar and pestle, pound the garlic and fresh chiles to a paste. (Or mince them together with a knife.) In a small bowl, combine this garlic and chile mixture with the chile paste, hot water, and sugar. Stir well. Add the fish sauce and lime juice and combine. Alexa - I just looked on FN and see it got mostly good reviews so maybe it was just me. And now you've got me thinking about seafood dip. I've not made this but it but it's another simple one that sounds pretty good. Opposite of TRO's, this one doesn't call for shrimp but I'm sure it would be good added. Crab Dip Legal Sea Foods Cookbook 8 oz whipped cream cheese with chives 2T heavy cream 3T minced Berumda or sweet onion (optional) 2t bottled horseradish 1/2-1 t Old Bay 3T sharp cheddar 1 pound fresh lump crabmeat, undrained, picked over Preheat oven to 400 deg. In a large mixing bowl blend cream cheese and cream until smooth. Mix in the onion, horseradish, Old Bay, and Cheddar. Stir in crab meat and its juices. Place in a medium ovenproof dish, like a 9 inch pie plate, and bake until bubbly, 10-12 minutes. Serve immediately. FOAS's note: As I typed this up I remembered that you despise Old Bay. Tough - I already typed it!

Crab spinach dip 8 oz cream cheese 8 oz sour cream 1 can of crab meat drained and rinsed 10 oz frozen chopped spinach Juice of half a lemon 1 T grated onion 1/2 tsp Tobasco ( or more to taste) 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese. Bring cream cheese to room temp, and mix with sour cream until well blended. Thaw the spinach, drain pressing out as much liquid as possible, twist in a clean dish towel. spread spinach on a board and chop again with a chef's knife. Add to the cream cheese mix. Drain and pick over the crab, rinse and add to the dip along with the lemon juice, cheese and hot sauce. Place in a shallow baking dish and heat in a 350 oven for 20 minutes until thoroughly hot ( I sometimes use the microwave) Serve with pita chips for dipping. Linda C

This might be a little late, but maybe someone will find it timely. Got this recipe from a free Kraft publication some years back. I double the recipe using the 1 Lb. can of crab meat from Costco (blue fin). It has a very nice taste and is always devoured. Hot Crab Dip Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 ounces Cream cheese -- softened 1 cup grated swiss cheese 4 scallions -- chopped 1/3 Cup Mayonnaise 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground pepper 8 ounces crab -- (Costco's canned Blue Fin is good) 1/4 Cup Sunflower seeds, toasted -- optional Combine cream cheese, swiss, scallions, mayonnaise, and fresh ground pepper. Gently fold in crab meat. Transfer to ovenproof crock and top with sunflower seeds. Bake at 350Â° for 30 minutes. Place under broiler for a few minutes to brown top. Source: "Kraft"

This one works for crab or shrimp:

1 cup crab or shrimp
1 cup grated cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup mayo
salt + pepper
tobasco

Mix and chill. Serve with crackers.

* I have even used the leftovers as a filling in grilled cheese sandwich. Yum!

This one is simple and got me a marriage proposal!!!

Crab Dip
11 oz cream cheese
1 tsp worstershire sauce
1 tbsp finely chopped onion

Cream all ingredients until smooth.

Spread in 9 or 10 inch pie pan.
Top with cross & blackwell seafood sauce.
Sprinkle top with one can crab meat.
Chill serve with crackers. (triscuits are best.)
