It is 26 here in central Indiana and we have had a few flurries. I am planning on going grocery shopping with Amber today. My shopping list seems long since I have been cooking a lot and will be doing more of it. I need to continue working on my Christmas cards for family and friends. I also add letters to most of them or at least a note. I know I always like a note or letter when I receive mine. Do you have your Christmas tree or decorations up yet? I think tomorrow our girls are going to come and put ours up. I am thinking I will fix a couple kinds of soup for our lunch and don't know what else. Last year was the first year the 3 girls came and put up our tree. For some years before that I didn't put up a tree here as we had Christmas at Amber and Mike's. Now that I feel better we will have it here again. When do you put your tree up?

Hope all are keeping warm today. Winter is here.

9ÃÂº here this morning; looks as though it will be clear, but snow is in the forecast. No tree up yet, but soon, I think. I have the outdoor lights up (did it in 70ÃÂº weather!)

Morning Marilyn and all.....It's a chilly 22 degrees here in the Texas Hill Country. Very cold for us but it is supposed to warm to 64 degrees,,still chilly for us but better than 22. We have about 3 or 4 freezes during the course of a year.

I have some shopping to do and have to pick up a couple of prescriptions. I am working on Christmas gifts and will probably get close to finished today. Most of my gifts start with a purchased product and then I modify them so I will still have work to do.

I only have experience with Heavenly Blue MG's and they did not do well in a pot. They did indeed insist on climbing and then I think they just ran out of root space because they suddenly stopped growing and flowering.

I've never seen bedbugs except for the pictures on the web. Kath, I hope you had no hitchhikers. You certainly took plenty of precautions, I bet you'll be fine. One of the conference rooms at work had been infested with them. The managers wisely selected a different room for meetings for about a month. The exterminators were in on the day they were first seen. Speaking of bugs, today, I am finishing up debugging the tropicals that spend summer outside in prep for bringing them in for winter. We are supposed to get into the thirties Friday and Saturday evening. I used to always use a systemic, but this year I am trying something that I saw on Facebook. I am submerging the pots and as much foliage as possible in soapy water for half an hour. I am wiping all parts that cannot be submerged with the same soapy water, then rinsing when I pull them out. In theory, this is a great idea, but I have been using more and more lightweight foam pots to save my back. Foam pots float :-) I've been settling for allowing them to float sort of sideways and rotating the pot so all areas are submerged at some point for 30 minutes. We'll see if this helps with fungus gnats. I only have the 4 biggest left to do today, I got 8 smaller pots yesterday.

The sun is shinning brightly here in Ks, but it was 22 when I got up this AM. It's very deceiving when you look outside. Nothing on my agenda today except to stay in and play as usual. Have a nice day all............

Yep, it is cold in Indiana today. Cold wind!!! Our ground is pretty well white, too.

It's about 29 here and snowing! We had our first snow late Thanksgiving day here. We put the tree up Sunday and started on the outdoor lights. Still have one more string to put on the eaves. I have to run back to Wal-Mart and take back a few things and pick up an extension cord.

I also have to get Christmas cards still, along with a few food items, like milk.

Took the girls to school this morning, came home and put the rest of the turkey on the stove to make soup and went back to bed for a couple more hours. I just took the meat off the turkey and gave the not so pretty parts to the dogs. The broth is cooling so I can skim the fat off it before I start making the soup. I'm also doing laundry.

Have to run to Kroger to get a few things and fax some test results to the bariatric center. Apparently the cardiologist's office didn't do it like they said they would. That's all they're waiting on, that paperwork. Grrr!

Picking the girls up this afternoon from school and then we are driving to Lexington to pick up Alex at his dorm and going to see Transiberian Orchestra. We went last year and hope the exchange students like it.

Oh, speaking of exchange students, Johanna, the girl from Germany, is planning on going home early, in February. She is homesick. So, she isn't going on our trip during Spring break. Maria, on the other hand, is wanting to come back for college and go to U.K. She loves it here.
