There are some black plastic things in the pump's box - fittings of some kind. But I need to get the hose. Someone on here told me they far prefer 3" to 2" and that I could get an adapter. The flow rate I think is 4800, is that right? OK, stainless steel hose clamps, thanks. What about that kind of hose, the Oase non-kink spiral? Is that a good one to order?

Found out...click on the X that appears when you hover your mouse over a particular friends game story..click on the x and a few options will appear..there is a delete...hide all posts from this friend...or hide game posts from this friend...I chose the later and works like a charm

As a side benefit of PEX, it already has an insulating quality to it, as much as 30% better than copper. This is because copper has a fairly high emmisitivity characteristic. To reduce your losses further you may go ahead and put insulation covering on your PEX. Most often the open cell insulation that is pre-slit with joining adhesive available in 6Â lengths is used.

I wish I had an answer to your question, because I have a soft spot in my heart for K&T. It's not because I think it is still safe or should be preserved at all costs but, when you think about it, it did its job remarkably well for a lot of years--and, more remarkably, still does in many cases. Not many cars from 19-oughts are still running; nobody uses stock tickers from the 20's; and not many people actually listen to radios from 1930's radios. But K&T still pumps power through old victorian houses with scary looking towers and large porches in the front. I do know exactly what you mean, though. My grandmother (born 1884) used to put tape over electrical outlets when they were unused. She was convinced that, otherwise, electricity would leak out and run up her bill. The chicken house had only one outlet (a luxury of sorts!). When entering the building, you could turn on a rotary switch and have some additional light for finding and picking up eggs. After you had a basket of eggs, you removed the light (by twisting the porcelain fixture as described) and screwed on the "plug". (Some things never change: Many people still call receptacles plugs.) That allowed the candling light to be plugged in to look at and grade the eggs. Nice walk down memory lane. Wish I knew what those were called, though. Cheers, Tom
