Today is the seventh anniversary of my father's death.
He was a fascinating man with an interesting life.
Among other things, he was a Golden Gloves boxer.
This is him in the 1940s.

I'm suppose to be taking it easy for a few days after my eye surgery.
One of the projects I'm working on is to make a "Best of" folder for last Summers backpacking trip to Wyoming. Just to recap: Most Summers I and some of the kids go for a week long backpacking trip to the Bighorn Mts. of Wyoming. For the first time ever all 5 of my kids and 1 spouse were able to make the trip last July. My daughter is 28 and the boys are 25, 23, 21, and 16. ( What a treat to have them all together for an extended period of time. It was fun to sit back and watch the sibling dynamics come back into play.) Between the seven of us we had 6 cameras along for a total of almost 1250 pictures. Now I'm narrowing that down to 100 or 125 pictures. I'll share some over the next few days.

I liked reading about your father. I could not stop until I finished. And the pictures were so interesting.

Moni, the stove and cook kit are a couple of the heavier items so they're split up. Food is distributed amongest everyone. The boys carried 32 to 35 lbs each. I had about 28, the girls carried about 23 lbs. each. Everybodies pack gets lighter as we consume the food and fuel.

A man down the street from me now just had his high school graduation a year or so ago. He and a couple of buddie left high schoo to join the navy after Dec 7th It took a long time to get tht diploma!!

Thanks Vicki. The web site over the years has generated emails from a number people whose lives were touched by my father in ways I can't even fathom. One man told me he has kept a scrapbook as a sort of shrine to my father. Old girlfriends, classmates, students of his boxing school, neighbors, etc. have all Googled his name, found the site and written me. I recently got an email from an 80+ year old woman who attended art school with him. She told me the only reason she didn't date dad was that she towered over him by about a foot. LOL
