From a Friend:

I was in Starbuck's recently when I suddently realized I desperately needed to fart.

The music was really loud so I timed my fart with the beat of the music.

After a couple of songs I started to feel better.

I finsihed my coffee and noticed that everyone was staring at me

And suddently, I remembered I was listening to my iPod ....

And how was your day?

A guy was going fishing and on the way he stopped at a bait & tackle shop. As he entered the shop he noticed that the girl at the register was blind.

He grabbed a container of worms and on the way back to the register he stopped to browse a rack of lures, and as he stood there he felt that pang of gas building up... He looked around and there were a couple other customers in the far corner of the room, but they would never hear anything, then he looked at the cashier and thought to himself,,shes blind so she won't know who did it, and he let er go....Varooommmmm.....

A few minutes later he stepped over to the register to check out and the girl says that will be $27.

"$27 dollars for a can of worms,,are you crazy?"

She says,"no, the worms are $2 and it will be $20 for the duck call and $5 for the stink bait."

Mine looked terrible until just the past couple of weeks. Recent rains have really helped. I fertilized lightly about 3 weeks ago and I think that has helped them rebound. I will be clearing out about 60 varieties...many newer... in mid to late Sept. I will be posting them on the Lily Auction, but will also have several for trade....for somethings OTHER than DL's. Another trick that I think has helped in a couple of beds: I installed a red-neck irrigation system. That is, I ran pvc from the washing machine to the beds. Cut slits in a ten foot piece for the water to escape through. It takes a little moving pvc pipe, but sure saves on the water bill.

Excellent. One of my favorite sayings- "Every mother is a working mother." I was a working mother with an office job, and oh, how I appreciated my friends who stayed home and would watch my kids when they were too sick for school.

Sue, I sure feel for Mike and Amber. 75' of potatoes? Holy cow! We gardened with neighbors once and guess who got to get down on their knees and plant those blankety-blank pieces of potates in the mounds. Never again. I have deep respect for those Idaho potato growers! It's very warm today but not hot enough for the air to come on. I puttered around cleaning in the kitchen, playing on the computer, read the papers and did the NY Times crossword, which takes me an hour at least. Made slaw, sliced the corned beef really thin for sandwiches. Talked to my daughter and SIL on the phone. DD just found out she got the job she applied for and gave her 2 weeks notice at her present job. Steamed the Florida room floor and got the quilt back on the bed--it was a little damp in the middle when I took it out of the dryer so it's been drying on the bed in the guest room. Watched a little of the NASCAR race, but then Tony Stewart had an accident. Never did see if he finished or not. That's it for today--aren't you sorry you asked--haha! OK, wake up everybody :-)

Elisabeth, what wonderful news. Your day was better than all the rest put together. I am very happy for you. Really, really happy for you and your family. Today was kind of crazy here. First I had the air conditioner tuned up. I bought a Groupon for $34 to pay for it. He showed up an hour early, so that was the end of my lazy morning. Of course, he discovered that the motor needs to be replaced for $1200! He said it can wait for awhile, and it will. I started cleaning the carport when the phone rang and the roofer was calling to say the dumpster was on its way. Yikes. Now I have a big dumpster sitting in the driveway. Work starts Monday. I am dreading it. My son came over and cut the grass for me, bless his heart. I called the dermatologist and changed my appointment. Too much going on at once here. Then I finished cleaning the carport and it looks pretty good for the moment. Now I am going to go read my book in bed and fall asleep!
