do you mean that he is trying to cover his tracks for not having you on the blood pressure meds at the time you had the stroke? I don't think any pharmacy would go along with that. Was it ordered through a pharmacy?

I don' understand what you mean about a prescription being backdated.

From my experience, you can go to any dr. you want who accepts medicare. They never had any problems, never needed any referrals, and rarely ever paid more than a few dollars at most (usually nothing) for any dr's visit.

If you don't have confidence in your dr. for any reason, it's time to change. Ask around among your friends for drs they're comfortable with, then check the dr.'s ratings online, be sure you find someone who will take good care of you, and with whom you have a good rapport. Good luck to you.

Get insurance where you don't have to have a primary care doctor, and where you can go to any doctor.
I have a medicare supplemental package that allows me to see any doctor, without the "permission" of a primary care DR (most of whom have no board certifications).
In the end, it costs less because there are NO co-payments, and no permission(and visit) needed to see a specialist.

My husband had AARP (United Health Care) supplement to his medicare, and you can choose any doctor, or change doctors at any time. I just looked at all the plans offered through AARP (United Healthcare) in the booklet, and I dont see any that are network, looks to me, like you can change doctors at any time you would like to. Yes, you can change doctors any time you want with AARP United Healthcare. No, doctors don't put their heads together unless it is a specialist, and even then they barely have time to talk to each other. You should go ahead and look for another doctor. Good luck.

We have AARP and have only good things to say about it.You can choose any doctor that you want as long as they accept Medicare.

It is your plan and I believe you can have any dr you want, that accepts your plan. My medical center has patient advocates if you feel you need to talk to someone see about that.

yes I think he is trying to cover his tracks.I never had the meds .When I went to the drugstore they said I picked it up and they had a receipt showing my signature.It was forged.I'm going to let it dropped and change doctors and pharmacist.Life is too short to get bogged down with this.I do feel better after just getting it off my chest.

What pharmacy is it? I do not think any good pharmacy would allow a Dr. to sign your prescription and back date it. Where I go when I sign and the person does not know me ( and most of the gals do know me) they have to ask for ID. If it is a chain like CVS etc, you can put in a complaint to the main office, I did with Walgreens because of a problem with the one in AZ while traveling. I hope you find another Dr and pharmacy that you are happy with. Is there a Costco near you? How about a CVS?

I don't think you should let that drop if someone is forging names for prescription drugs. You might not want to bother with it but you might save other people some grief if the doctor or even the pharmacy is participating in fraud.

It's true (as stated above) that your AARP insurance will let you see any doctor you wish (as long as they take Medicare), but in my experience most specialists don't want to see you unless you're referred by another physician. I have an internist as my PCP, and I like him a lot.
