Not me but the guys will be watching football. I'll be cleaning up!

I don't eat my TG dinner until my guests have left. I am so busy cooking and making sure everyone is happy that I can't relax and enjoy the big meal. When everyone is gone, I sit in front of the tv and quietly enjoy what I worked so hard on the previous 3+ days.

Chill..watch football...flit about...eat dessert...

We sometimes all take a walk and then come back and play games. Lots of laughs.

This year I am going shopping at Belks. They have some great deals that I can't pass up on, like pair of cowboy boots I have been dreaming of on sale for $19.99 regularly priced at $78.00. So I will probably get in line around 6 or so & wait for them to open at 8.

Relax and possibly take a nap. If a game is on I care about I might watch it but more likely I would read.

Laura, I went to Belk's, today, at The Summit, and didnt' buy a thing :o(

We're taking the boys (big boys - they are men now) out to dinner and then watch the Packers - Is there anything else to do when the Packers play (giggle).

I will go to the women's store & either Tony or Molly will go to the men's & home store. They are 2 separate stores at the Pinnacle.

My family makes gingerbread houses after dinner. We work in teams and decorate them. Lots of laughter from the kids to the adults. Play games when we tire or finish the houses. Some of the men watch football games or we just sit and talk and enjoy the company.

used to take walks but with the weather we might just take the long way going home and see early lights on the way...I'm sure there will be a ton of football...

My step-daughter and son-in-law are staying with us both Wednesday night and Thursday night, so we will probably just relax, visit, watch tv, etc. Our Thanksgiving dinner will be at 2 p.m. so it will be late afternoon or early evening by the time everything is put away and most of the guests have gone home.

Our meal will be between 12:30 and 1 so when it is over and the dishes done I will come home and probably go to bed:) Everyone else will go home too. We do not make it an all day thing. The men will have to go to work the next day.

Our family eats early at the restaurant. The entire family goes over to the homeless center to serve food and help clean up. Several in family made desserts to take with us. It ends a great day for us.

When we get together as a family, everyone sits around the table and talks for hours. Then we eat dessert and talk some more! Dinner is usually late afternoon, and the event doesn't wrap up until 11 or so in the evening.

But - the family is more spread out this year, so a late evening means for a long, late drive over icy roads - and I hate being out late at night. Too many drunk/sleepy drivers. With our changing family situation - inlaws becoming more frail - I'm not sure how many more of these big family Thanksgivings there will be. Definitely not one this year....

In the past, the guys watched football and the women sat around and talked. Don't know what it will be like this year. I know it's tradition in some familes to go to a movie or help out at a homeless shelter. Maybe next year we'll plan to eat later and help the homeless.

In the past, drive home (a 45 minute drive or so), and then eat my portion of the leftovers I brought home. Bad me! But tasty.

We have Thanksgiving dinner at dinner time--6 or 7 pm. So after dinner, we might sit and visit for a bit around cleaning up, and then we see my sister and her DH off. After that, we go back to cleaning and TV. It takes me a very long time to clean up afterwards because I use the good china and silver which must be hand washed and dried.

This year I am recuperating still from being rear ended on the freeway a month ago, so the DIL and sons will be asked to help out more than usual.

We also eat at dinner time -- 6. After dinner we put the food away, wash the dishes, dry them and put them away. After that we watch a little tv, probably football although that would not be my choice. There's only three of us, down from 15 years ago, so T Day is not such a big deal as it once was.

I love eating early like Marilyn Sue. Then everything can be cleaned up and the rest of the day is relaxing. After eating, we will probably take the grandkids to the park so they can run around and play on the equipment (unless it's raining, and it might be).

This year, the whole day will be spent relaxing. I've already stocked the refrigerator with our favorite treats, so we won't be eating a traditional meal, just snacking at will. I'm sure there will be some football watching and some Christmas decorating. I bought a stack of Christmas magazines, so I will go through them for inspiration for an upcoming annual dinner party with friends, finalize my menu and create a shopping list. I'll probably review my Christmas gift list and see what else I need to buy.

Clean up then sleep!! After cooking for three days I will need it. I take a nap every afternoon and it never fails I am awaken by a telemarketer. I am on the national do not call list but it apparently doesn't include them.

Dinner at our home is at 3:00. Hubby & I get everything ready in the morning. Then watch the parade & the 1st football game. Start cooking, eat, clean up & then just relax & watch the rest of the football games. Hubby will go to sleep but not me.

We eat at noon...and after clean-up, it is my hope that I can get started putting some of the Christmas decorations that I need help doing, since I have been forbidden on a ladder...outside hanging of wreaths, putting up tree etc.... Of course, I am sure the guys will get in plenty of football. There is a lot more to be done this year because the next weekend I have my house on the Christmas Home Tour!

Wash the dishes....my good bone china has never been in a dishwasher...and never will be.

When we did Thanksgiving with DH's family all the guys would go turn on the tv to a football game. Of course, none of them lasted long after the big meal & soon all were asleep & snoring. Too noisy for me. This year, we will be having lunch with my dad at his assisted living facility. We'll visit with him for a while. When we get home, I'll work on on my Christmas decorations.

We eat at noon. After I get the dishes cleaned and put away and all the food in the fridge, I take a nap!

When I was a kid, the men would kill and butcher a couple steer after dinner. (I was fascinated..not so much anymore!)
It was a gift from my grandparents. I know now as an adult how much that must have meant to his son - my dad - with 6 childen to feed.
These days we sit around and play games, watch football...coffee and chat.
Last count I heard we are at 32 people.

When all of our family (that lives here in town) always got together we would set up 3 or 4 tables and play pitch. Some would go through the paper to see what items they were going to head out for on Black Friday. and others would just sit and talk.

But now each family has grown and we kind of just stayed with our own family. After losing 4 family members last year it went that way. I'm not liking it...I miss getting together with them all.

My daughters are going to their spouses side of the family this year so it will be just our son and his girl friend with us tomorrow. One daughter will be coming later and we will have a game night

Then on Saturday we will have another Thanksgiving day with the girls and Jeff if he wants.

plans are to start digging out my Christmas stuff from storage. However will have two little ones at my house..ages 2 and 3. so that may be delayed and replaced with playing with dolls and blocks.

Evidently, fill out a police report. We went to get out the silver and two of the three sets... gone. Looked like the houses looks after the Grinch steals every last drop. Guess something had to make it memorable!
