How would you interpret this response?

About a month ago we had a fish 'burger' for lunch, consisting of toasted buns with melted cheese, mayo, lettuce, and a piece of fried fish. When talking about whether we enjoyed the meal, one person said "I liked the taste, but didn't like that the hot fish made the buns get soggy. Next time I won't have my fish in the burger."

That sentence was obviously worded poorly, as today we had the same meal with the addition of soup and salad, for dinner, causing some confusion for the cook. If you couldn't simply clarity ahead of time, what would you serve that person for the 'burger' part of the meal, based on their response the last time? It's amazing how differently people can interpret things, lol!
