I guess my favorite is Old Fashioned oatmeal with rasins or crasins and brown sugar and whole milk. My 2nd choice is Cream of Wheat.

Oatmeal and I break up a slice of buttered toast in it. When working in the nursing home had several patients I had to spoonfeed and they liked toast but unable to eat it as toast, so I would crumble it up in their oatmeal and they liked it. Decided one day to try it myself and I liked it:)

Next would be cream of wheat which I haven't had in ages,need to get some.

When I think of hot cereal I think of Malt-O-Meal! That's what I had as a kid with butter,brown sugar and a little milk.I liked mine thick so I used only a little milk.My dad liked lots of milk in his,almost soupy.LOL I like oatmeal but I prefer the steel cut oats with cream and sugar and a big chunk of butter.

Oh Glenda I always asked my mom to make my cream if wheat with lumps. Thought I was the only one.

I love Irish oats with raisins, brown sugar, milk and butter. Im guessing i ruin any nutritional value, but YUM. I also love Cteam of Wheat with milk and sugar. I never learned how to make it lumpy. It was a mom thing.

Quaker Oats packets of rolled oats cereal with brown sugar and maple syrup flavoring. Add blueberries or rasins.

1. Cream of wheat
2. Cornmeal mush
3. oatmeal

I like the taste of the first two better, but oatmeal fills me up with less and IT COMPLETELY STOPS THE HUNGERIES all day.

Old Fashioned Oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar!

I love fried cornmeal mush, but have never eaten it as a hot cereal. Haven't had Cream of Wheat in years, umm... decades! Should give that a try again. I liked it as a kid.

Here in Canada we have Red River Cereal.
It's made with wheat, rye and flax seeds. Delicious.

I also love oatmeal. I never thought of putting fruit in it. Will try it. And Cream of Wheat. When we were kids, my brother would only eat "brown porridge" and I'd eat "white porridge" as we called them.

It's very healthy to have a bowl of oatmeal every day, so that's what we're trying to do.

McCann's Irish Steel cut Oats! With brown sugar and raisins. I make it in a small slow cooker overnight so it's ready first thing in the morning. So good on a cold morning!
Red River Cereal is good too!

Only hot cereal I eat is cornmeal mush. I fix a bowl every morning all winter long. Then sometimes, on the weekends, I'll make extra so we can have fried cornmeal mush for Sunday breakfast.

Oatmeal with just milk and sweetener in it. I like steel cut oats also. I don't like the instant oatmeal. I like most all the cooked cereals, corn meal mush, Coco Wheats, Ralston, Maypo, and cream of wheat I have a daughter that likes vanilla ice cream in her oatmeal. Never tried it.

I love Scottish style oatmeal with brown sugar and slivered almonds. Scottish style is very smooth and has the whole oats ground fine.

I've never liked any hot cereal. They smell nice but the taste/texture turns me off. I am a big cold cereal eater.

Hot shredded wheat biscuit with butter, a fried egg on top and salt. My comfort food when I don't feel good. Follow with a cup of hot tea with brandy, honey and lemon and it's "lights out" LOL

My goodness. I never knew there was so many ways to eat oatmeal. I love oatmeal in the winter just with splenda and hot milk. Never liked cream of wheat which is probably why I don't like grits. There's something about the texture of it. Oh and hot shredded wheat biscuit with butter and a fried egg on top. Wow. Never heard of such a thing. Shredded wheat biscuit crumbled up is my go to cereal in the warm weather months. I never heard of a hot biscuit with egg on top. Some day I'll have to get my nerve up and try it. It sounds interesting. Will also have to try the cinnamon on hot oatmeal since cinnamon is so good for you.

Eaten with warmed milk, brown sugar and whatever fresh fruit available (or more often than not, raisins)

Pour boiling water over the biscuit and drain (only takes about 2 seconds for the biscuit to get soft). I pour the water over the biscuit in a bowl and use a spatula to hold the biscuit down while draining the water. Add a couple pats of butter and top with a fried egg (runny yolk).

Used to enjoy soupy oatmeal for dunking crispy butter toast in.

I like shredded wheat with hot milk.

Love Cream of Wheat. Have eaten it since I was a child. For some reason it doesn't have that taste from more than 70 years ago. Wonder if that old wood stove had anything to do with the taste. Here is the way I eat oatmeal, uncooked with sliced banana. Guess I like that little bit of crunch, one morning I was in a hurry, so I put the oatmeal and sliced banana in a bowl and thought I would cook it after I got to work. Never found time, and when I opened it up, loved the taste. So for the past 15 years, have eaten it raw. If I eat yogurt in the mornings, I sprinkle some of the oatmeal into the yogurt. I really love my hot cream of wheat. Glenda, you mentioned yours lumpy. I love my grits lumpy.

I like Grits, Cream of Wheat or Oat Bran...with a tiny bit of sugar, butter and milk.

Oatmeal, but not the instant. Just milk and sugar. I love mush but I've only had it fried with butter and syrup on it. Don't like cream of wheat at all--and nothing with lumps in it. Gives me the shivers :-)

I like old fashioned oatmeal either with raisins cooked in it or a banana sliced after it is cooked. I just add a little non-fat milk, no sweetener needed.

If I think of it the night before ... drop a bit of water into the bottom of a mug with half a dozen to a dozen raisins, give it it a shot in the microwave, let sit till morning. If I do it in the morning, two or three short shots in the microwave, with an interval between.

I like to chop a date or two into small pieces for some variety.

I like oatmeal, either minute of large flake, with a bit of salt. Cook in a pot, or in a bowl put into the microwave ... which usually requires about three or four shots, and taking it out for a stir in between, to get the inside stuff out to get cooked.

Add some brown sugar, some milk and cream .. delish! I like mine runny enough that it takes the shape of the bowl quickly.

As an alternative, I get multi-grain cereal, either 8- or 11-grain varieties.

I like the farina (Cream of Wheat) also ... but in third spot. I find it less tasty, plus I think that a portion of the nutrients have disappeared in the processing (or is that just a prejudice, related to it's appearing somewhat like white flour?).

Great start to a coolish morning (cold ones, too). Especially if one partakes of them in a rather chilly house.

I like the old fashion oatmeal smooth and a little thin with bits of bacon, butter and warm milk.

Another McCanns fan here but I seldom eat that many carbs, especially for breakfast.

Angelaid...that sounds like the grossest thing I could imagine eating for breakfast. So it is probably really good. LOL!!

I like shredded wheat with hot water poured over it, drained and then some butter, sugar and milk.
