Roomba Battery Fix

So I pulled out my Roomba this weekend - it's been off of the charger for AT LEAST 6 months, if not longer. I know I'd read where if it's left off for even a few days it can kill the battery, so I was going to research Ebay for a used/refurbished battery. As a last-ditch effort, I googled reviving the battery - and it worked!

Here's what it said to do:

1. Take the battery out of the roomba.

2. Hold the power button on the unit itself down for at least 60 seconds to "reset" the battery.

3. Charge it uninterrupted for 72 hours.

4. Run it at the Max clean cycle (or until it completely runs out of juice again - and hide the home-base so it can't redock itself when it gets low - you want it to completely run out of a charge)

5. Repeat the whole process at least 2 times

Before I had done this, it would run for a few seconds and then play the sad "I'm out of juice" song (even after a full 24 hour charge). Today when I ran it (after 1 cycle of the reset) it ran for 45 minutes - that's progress! From what I read, I may get even better run times after the next two cycles.

I hope this helps someone - maybe saves them from buying a new battery when/if they don't need one!
