I need some instruction on candle burning, please.

Tea lights and votives........I've never burned either. I have two holders for tea lights, an old one from Stangl Pottery and a newer one from Pfalzgraff (or however you spell it). At least I think they take tea lights. The tea lights I have are encased in metal, and I assume they (and therefore pottery holders) get very hot. Can you set the holders down on a wood table? Or do they need a trivet or something underneath?

Same question for the votives. They'll be in their glass holders; can they be set down anywhere?

I bought some fake (electronic) "tea lights," which I might use in the pottery holders instead, depending on what you tell me.

Thanks!

Susan
