This year is not typical. Usually my daughter hosts dinner for her in-laws and me, but this year she and her family are going to NYC for the Macy's parade. My standing other option is to join my son and daughter-in-law at her family's dinner, but this year my daughter-in-law is pregnant and the baby is due around Thanksgiving, or before. So I may be skipping Thanksgiving, which would not be a problem. The baby takes priority!

So far it will be our DD and anyone she wants to invite.
We have been going out of town the past several years but I decided it is time to stay home and enjoy leftovers after the big dinner.
I wish our DS and his family lived closer.

At this point one extra planned guest. My husbands 2nd oldest son. The boys have NEVER met one another. He will arrive on Tuesday and leave Friday.

Our friend and her two boys maybe..her husband is on the Nimitz.

Thanksgiving is to be at my house this year and 3 of our children and families will be here. Our other daughter and our son in law will most likely have Thanksgiving with their daughter, our granddaughter as she is expecting a baby boy on Dec. 1 and she is not feeling up to traveling. Growing up Thanksgiving was hardly celebrated and there was always just 4 of us. Never had turkey until after I was married. Now it is a must for all of our Thanksgivings.

We will be very close to having the occupancy permit for our new home by then if things go well. So we plan on spending Thanksgiving Day - the entire long weekend, actually - moving belongings into our house. We'll be doing finishing details as well - shelving, etc. The rest of our family doesn't do much for Thanksgiving anyway - it isn't an "all hands on deck" thing. So we're looking forward to at least one day without our subs (that we appreciate so very much) to get some extra work in.

I think she had a girl. My cousin passed away from cancer several years ago so I have lost touch with the family.

We are going to take the RV back to Oklahoma, mother in law at the moment has been allowed to return home with hospice. I will cook for everyone again. I think most of my husband's family will be there. It will likely be the last Holiday with her.

So far, we will be joined by our neighbors on either side of us, across the street, and behind us. I call them my nuclear neighbors, lol. I think that one or two from Robert's department will come, too. These people are all ages from a few months to quite elderly. Three different nationalities, a wide range of professions, a totally eclectic gang of people! All gathering for Thanksgivukkah! What a hoot!

We will have about 15. Our two children, their children and families. I cook for about 3 days and it is gone in less than 30 minutes.

We usually have Thanksgiving with DH's family. The last few years, since his nephews were born, have been at his brother's house. This year they are traveling to my SIL's family in FL. My family has never celebrated Thanksgiving with a big family meal. This will be my dad's first Thanksgiving at his assisted living dementia facility. We will join him for lunch. We discussed bringing him to our house, but it just isn't really possible given the care he needs & the difficulty he has with walking.

Last year, we planned Thanksgiving dinner for all of Gary's kinds and their families on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Then his dad went to the hospital and was in very bad condition, so we spent the day there (120+ miles from home). The kids went ahead and had their holiday dinner at our house, cooked the turkey, the whole bit. Then Gary and I spent actual Thanksgiving day helping deliver Thanksgiving dinner to elderly shut-ins. It was a wonderful day.

This year, we are going to try for having all the kids and their families at our house. We usually invite Gary's ex-wife too, since she is mom to most of the kids. Gary was married twice before me, divorced from his first wife, and then widowed. This is his first wife and mother of three of his four kids.

I will be going to NYC to spend Thanksgiving with my daughters. However, a cousin of mine and her husband are hosting dinner and her parents are coming down as well. So is my brother. It is the first time we've had the holiday with this combination of people but should be fun. They were always considered the Easter cousins because that was the holiday we always saw them.

I hope to go out to eat with a couple of friends.

This will be the first Thanksgiving in many years that all 5 of my brothers will be here. We have it at our house on Friday, everyone does their own thing on Thursday while I cook and cook and cook. Right now we are looking at 35 - 40, I just can't figure out where everyone will sit. We'll do 2 turkeys, ham, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, gravy, wild rice stuffing with lots of sausage and dried fruits, I do sweet potatoes pureed and stuffed in hollowed out orange halves, lots of veggies and I let everyone else handle the desserts. I'm tired already.

One of our grandsons who is stationed at Camp Lejeune Is coming for Thanksgiving. His family is in California- wish they could all be here.

Our holiday meals are family--my sister and BIL; my daughter, SIL and two little grandsons, my older son and his wife (who came to our Thanksgiving when they started dating), and my younger son. This year, DD and her family will travel to Big Bear with her in-laws and family for their Thanksgiving in a rented home. They will pick up a restaurant cooked packaged Thanksgiving meal before heading up the mountain. The next day they will warm the meal and enjoy family and football.

We would love to have my brother and his wife and son, but she is busy entertaining her family that day. So we get together for a meal out when the whole crew is in town between the holidays.

I will have my daughter, SIL and DGS, my neighbor Jean and possibly another neighbor if her children don't come. Nothing like the huge fun-filled three day Thanksgivings we had back in the '60's when our kids were young, but I'm thankful that I feel like cooking it this year.

Thanksgiving at our home will just be my hubby & myself. I don't mind, I will be making the traditional dinner.

My oldest daughter passed away almost 2 years ago & my other daughter lives in FL with her family.

I miss the big dinner with everyone but in another way I am glad it is just the 2 of us.

I will be having the family at my home this year. My three kids and their families alternate with us and their in-laws for the major holidays. The kids all like to be here at the same time, so it is the 3 of them, their spouses, 4 grandchildren, my Mom and Dad (they live an hour and a half away), two of my Aunts, two cousins, and my cousin's daughter, and her husband and son. And my BIL. In all that's 22.
I will have to do this buffet style, and set up tables in the living room. I'm sure it will be chaotic, especially since my one son and DIL will be staying with us with the two babies. And then my parents will stay over too. Wish my house was a little bit (or a lot) bigger. But we will make due. I'm just grateful that we can all be together.

This year, it will be the 2 of us and our 2 sons. Our daughter lives too far away (800 miles) to be here. I may invite a neighbor who lives alone across the street.

I just moved into my first house with a real dining room and a real dining room table, so I am hosting Thanksgiving! So far I have my stepdad coming, his new wife, her niece, 2 friends of theirs, and 3 friends of mine plus my boyfriend, so we should be about 10-ish total. I hope to find more people to come as I have enough food planned for 50, lol. Restraint is not my strength.

Normally, we spend Thanksgiving with no guests. Occasionally, my parents will fly in to join us.

Just the four of us-me, hubby and our 2 daughters. I will prepare both turkey and fish, for my vegan-pescetarian younger daughter. Lots of veggies and desserts.
