Is the Araucaria really as big as it looks? Judging by the person nearby, I think the trunk is too big to reach around! Must be an overall nice spot, the boats bobbing in the harbour, parks and flower beds...... our snow from Tuesday is finally melting here. Next week I hope to get the last crocus planted. Here's the tulip patch three years ago. I was also looking at pictures from greener times.

I thought she would too, Karen, normally she loves when we bring out "her" teapot and special yellow cups. However, I think the swing, digging in the dirt, and helping the dogs search the block wall for lizards won out this time! LOL We're in the 80's this week, so it's wonderful. I'm happy if it stays out of the three digits! I've been taking walks in the morning and evening and loving the cool breeze. Gotta enjoy it while I can, I know the heat will come before summer is over! Then I give thanks daily for the inventor of air conditioning! LOL Always love seeing all your wonderful items, and you really do have a knack for displaying things. Always love seeing your pictures. ;o) Luvs

Check to see how long a particular seen remains viable. This is critical if you plan to save some seeds to plant a year later. Two yr old seeds may have only 50% germination while others may have more. In general, for best results, seeds should be no older than 1.5 yrs. There is an exception to this for cockle-burr weeds. They have an exceptional survival technique built in. Out in the open field, not all seeds germinate the first year. A few wait for the second year and if the seeds are buried, a few wait for the third year or until they are unearthed. That's why its so hard to eradicate.

I've got at least half of my gifts already... the rest should be pretty easy. Getting the tree and the few outside decorations up will be the real chore. DH just has too much going on and it's not something I can do on my own.

My DD and I did some Christmas shopping today. Her MIL gave her one of those elves you sit out at Christmas with a little gift every day. Last year when she gave one to DD and to her own DD, she also included a toy for every day. So a new Dollar Tree opened in the next town, and I suggested we go see if we could find our elf toys. We found enough for the 2 weeks she wants to do it and for a few stocking stuffers too.

We have finished shopping for her two little boys pretty much between this trip and one to Costco.

Now if I just had ideas and lists or suggestions from the big boys and girls on our list.
