Awesome Halloween Costume . . . Will You Help Out My Friend???

I've just gotten off the phone with the radio station and they were nice enough to tell me who the winner is and, unfortunately, it isn't Marty. I was, frankly, floored that she hadn't won by a landslide, but she didn't. I do honestly think that she had the best costume and thank all of you for your kindness and efforts to help her with your votes. She told her sis, (my bestfriend) last night that the best thing about this contest would not be winning, but the wonderful kindness, support and thoughtful comments from you all here on GW. Ultimately, I think that this is what GW forums are really all about, The kindness of strangers. Thank you all so much! Lynn BTW, this is the gal who did win:

azzalea...thanks for the positive feed back about doing the party in the basement as a back-up plan. I'm getting my DH to soften up on this idea. Mainly because of you guys and your encouragement. The judging of the pumpkins is good with having the two tables for each..that I thought about too...however, I'm still trying to figure out someting a little fairer as to the judging..Got to give it more thought. swampwitch that club in Dallas sounded pretty cool! I read a great idea for using white sheets over helium balloons, to make 'bobbing' ghosts. I guess, after I get a tally on how many kids, and the range in their ages, I'll be able to determine how scarey to go...AND, If I will be doing this indoors, opposed to outside. Well...I've got a little time yet to keep planning. I do appreciate all the offers though. Thanks...

As you can tell, this is not a real active board. Wish it was. KT is more so and there are some great crafters there.

Halloween Costumes for Grown Up couple
Q

A few years ago a friend of mine and her husband had a very unique couples costume. He wore a black and white stripes shirt and black pants as a football ref and she wore a yellow sheet. He would blow his whistle and she would fling herself to the ground. She of course was his yellow flag on the play. It was hilarious. She was very dramatic on the flinging herself. I too saw someone go as dinner for 2, he had a cardboard "table" around his waist, table cloth, table set with dishes for 2 and wine glasses. He wore the waiters outfit and was serving a bottle of wine. He won the contest. He really did an excellent job on the whole setup. Another cute one I saw a couple do, husband dressed as a hobo or homeless person and the wife wore a big brown cardboard box. His refrigerator box home.

WOW Sharon!!! What a wonderful job you did making your costume. You are one clever lady with quite the imagination. No wonder you always take first prize. Would have loved to have seen that in person.

Thanks guys. I'd have to say it was the hardest one yet..I did have a silver mylar 'curtain' at the back of the oven-enabling me to sit down on a stool at least. The problem was..even thru the armholes on the side-I couldn't reach my mouth to even drink water w/a straw! People fed me drinks via the curtain in the back & then I'd slip the straw up thru to my mouth! LOL!
