yeah, Rita - I think that any problems with messing up the tv refers to those incidents where someone let go of the remote. I've not heard of them hurting TV's. And the newer remotes have a locking mechanism on the strap that is pretty secure. The Wii Bar is the little bar that sits either in front of or on top of the TV that detects your movements. Joanne, you will like WiiFit. It keeps track of lots of stuff! And it's fun to watch other people hula hoop - LOL! I'll throw in here that Wii is also capable of playing Nintendo Gamecube games. We bought a used gamecube controller - and the Gamecube games - you can often find pretty cheap. A great game is Donkey Konga - with bongo drums. Really fun!

Wii Fit Plus is great. I also love Wii Sports boxing - it will give you a workout too. I found some gloves that hold the remote at Big Lots and that made it even more fun. Thanks iggy's mommy. Actually, I was talking to her last night (about finding what DD asked Santa for), I asked her what game, she didn't know but said it was the 1st search result that came up. I still couldn't figure it out (had been looking all day), told her I had already bought something for her, so she said she'd just get it herself. So I'm off the hook. I think I will save the SD card for mother's Day, but I'll give her the pillows I bought last Xmas and the crystal I got a couple of months ago. I thought the pillows would look nice in her LR at Xmas, and I *know* she can use some new wineglasses since hers are cracked and chipped (must be close to 50 years old, nothing special, just glass not crystal).

We have the Wii and the Wii Fit Plus. (Wii costs $150 & Wii Fit Plus (exercise/yoga one is $100) Will it help you lose weight? Well...I think it's a great supplement in that you are moving around instead of sitting around your house/watching TV/reading etc, but I don't see people losing a lot of weight with it, unless you are starting at zero exercise and use it faithfully. Wii Fit Plus has a nice system that can weigh you, set a goal of weight loss, then keep track of the calories you burn per exercise you do. The best part is, it's in the privacy of your own home so no one can see you mess up a move or look silly! I think you might get decent results playing the Wii and doing some additional things-walking in your neighborhood, lifting light weights etc. Plus watching the calories. Fun stuff I know! lol We also have a game called "Just Dance" and it's really fun. You have to follow the dance moves of the person on the screen. I think there are 30 songs and you can do the short or long version (entire song).
