I'm so happy to be able to 'talk' again!!

Last Friday my keyboard suddenly didn't work anymore. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to be able to read all your posts and not be able to reply? Torture, I tell you!

So today, my computer tech SIL fixed my computer. I swear, the guy's a genius when it comes to computers. He was able to get my "C" drive back on and, bless his heart, I didn't lose a single recipe I hadn't printed out yet in my Documents file.

So now I'm back to normal and loving it! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

I was wondering where and how you were! I sure missed you!
I know what it's like to be able to read, and not post. Complete and utter torture.

mmqc...glad to see you got fixed, and imagine you felt like you had lost your identity for a while. piti...you mean when you start a thread, that the replies to it don't come in to you email? We used to be able to check that on our member page preferences, and now must check it for each thread that we start...right? Have you reported it as a technical error? I'm sure that is really frustrating. Sue

Thanks, guys :-) Some mildly analytical stuff: 1. The containers that have sprouted are all part of a the ones I grouped together in big garbage bags...I guess that ups the temps a bit, having the big plastic around them. I put a lot of containers in the bags for easy transport and for dog protection (from picking up a container and running off with it...which has happened before). Not all the containers in the bags have sprouted (there's a whole lot more of them), but those on the list above have. 2. The sprouted containers are also with a group of containers that are in Southern exposure. ( I have other bags of containers on my porch, in Northern exposure). This proves why it could be bad to have them in Southern exposure, because now, I'm more inclined to worry, since we now have snow and it's going to be in the 20s or lower tonight. But then, the ouotdoor temps have been in the low to mid 20s every night for the past two weeks and that didn't keep them from sprouting. ..but I'm not looking at those containers or opening them up...not for a few days, at least. Whatever will be will be...and I have a feeling a lot of those sprouts will be just fine. --I think I do need to slip a thermometer inside one of those bags of containers, though. I'm curious as to how much warmer it is in there. Linda

Ruthieg, Olive Branch is on highway 78 between Tupelo and Memphis. Actually, between Holly Springs and Memphis. I live in Tupelo now, but was born in Prentiss County, and we used to pass through Saltillo on the way to Tupelo. Building boom going on there...doesn't look the same! A Toyota plant to manufacture the Prius car is being built between Tupelo and New Albany. Everyone is very excited about it.

Happy you're up and running again. How frustrating that must have been, not to be able to participate in the discussions.

Not specific to keyboards, but this is reminding me to back up my hard drive. And write down all my cellphone contact numbers on paper. We never know when something will go on the fritz.

I send anything I want to keep to my email address. Patti, I'm glad your frustrations with your computer are over. Aren't Sons and SIL wonderful people?! I have mine fixed by my Stepson all the time!

Thanks, you guys! Petaloid and Cynic, you are so right. SIL said it wasn't a virus. He tried to tell me what he thought may have happened, but after the first minute I was in lala land, having no idea what he was talking about. :-(

Jasdip, our day was fun with my daughter, SIL and DGS here. Our grandson, Alex, is 15 and already 6'2. He's such a joy and has his mom's sense of humor, which is a little whacky, like mine. He's really a smart kid and makes honor roll even though he's in a very advanced program. I just love him to pieces!!
