Lost and Found

I love the leverback type earrings, and have worn 1/4 carat diamond drops for years. Last pair I bought was at Monkey Wards and I lost one.I was sick and heartbroken. These are really hard to find and I am not only picky, but on a serious budget. I finally found a replacement pair I could afford on ebay a couple of years ago.

Fast forward to last Saturday. Right in the middle of my living room carpet, in plain sight, lay my long lost earring. Maybe the new puppy found it and drug it into view? Who knows?

It had been missing for probably two years. It's in perfect shape too!

Yup ! My engagement ring. I think I said this before, but it was gone for 2 years and was found stuck to the bottom of the bar of oatmeal soap used to wash when you get poison ivy. I remember the kids geting poison really bad and having them soak in the tub. I don't remember taking the ring off. But it was stuck to the soap and had laid in that drawer all that time. I only found it when we moved and i was cleaning out the medicine cabinet.

Well, this wasn't a diamond earring or an engagement ring but......

My youngest son and I were sitting on the living room floor fixing a chair rung with some wood glue and clamps. When we were done, the lid for the glue was no where to be found. We looked and looked and I got so frustrated and said "It didn't just get up and walk away" as I was walking in circles looking for it. It was RED for goodness sakes! My son started laughing so hard he fell on the floor. The lid to the glue was stuck to my BUTT! It HAD gotten up and walked away!

I left somethings in the nightstand drawer when my sister and I were in Las Vegas this past summer, when my Mom passed away. It was mostly costume jewlery but they called my sister in Canada to let her know. The room was in her name. The items were taken to the security area in the casino and she had to fax an ok for the security people to release it to one of my parents neighbors. They were kind enough to offer to go and pick it up for me..... and I got it from them on my next trip out there. I think after a few years it might be too late though. I'm surprised the hotel management didn't call you if they found it..... but it might not have been turned in. I was lucky.

Back again. Les is doing OK. But not great. Last year was not a great one in my gardens. I think I have it figured out. Since a wheelchair will not roll in the dirt with me in it, I will use it as a walker, then sit to hoe and weed. And I have a couple of preteen boys who promises to help auntie Theresa next door. I plan to intimidate ken as I'd done before. It feels great to be back. Theresa Ann

bkay I still haven't been able to do this with consistency. I have contacted Houzz and was told they don't support the hosta forum,contrary to their claims. It is driving me crazy. I am back to my laptop and still have the problems with Houzz. Anyone else with old Theresa on this?

When I misplace the cell or the cordless phone I just call it, although the cordless has the option to push a button on the base and it'll ring the phone. Doesn't always work as was the case with a good friend of mine. He was mowing his lawn and when he finished he couldn't find his phone. Looked all over the house, garage, vehicles... Wasn't totally sure he had it on him when he was mowing. So he tried calling it. Nothing. Wandered around the yard dialing the cordless. Nothing. Then it hit him that he had it set on vibrate only. Now THERE is a challenge! So wandering around his rather large yard hitting redial over and over, hoping the cell battery isn't dead and finally he heard a buzz in the grass and there was the phone. At least he didn't hit it with the mower. This was back when the flip cells and bar phones were just becoming popular but were still hideously expensive so he didn't relish the thought of buying a new one and he needed it for business. But it ended happily and glad yours did also.

We had a four drawer filing cabinet full of papers. Bob was leafing through the papers one day when I was at work and lost his diamond ring. When I got home we removed every paper in that file cabinet drawer by drawer. The ring was no where to be found. I looked on, under and all around that cabinet and every piece of furniture in our computer room. I took everything out of that file cabinet several times over the months just to double check and recheck.
It was a year or so later that I was standing at the door to the room talking to him when I saw what I thought was a piece of telephone wire sticking up out of the edge of the carpet where we ran it around the room to the desk. I bent down to push the wire back under the carpet and that little hump in the wire turned out to be his diamond ring. I put it on my finger and went over to where he was at his computer and straightened stuff on his desk til he finally noticed the diamonds on my finger. He was one happy man!!
