One of my sisters and I ventured into Amish country today. Several of the places we go to were 10 to 20% off today. And of course when we go, I always have to stop at the bulk food places and get my grains (quinoa, wild rice, barley, oats, etc). I got some runners for my table,,,,one to put under my fall decorations, and a quilted snowman one for winter. I wanted to get what I call a pencil tree for one corner in my living room, but dragged myself out of the store without it. lol Maybe they'll have it on sale after the holidays.

Now I just want to get ready for bed and hibernate the rest of the weekend. Temps took a big tumble today here in Ohio.

I have some good, whole pumpkins from my "pumpkin run" collecting them for my worms. I found a recipe for pumpkin soup and made some. Made bread in my bread-maker. My guy is playing out of town tonite in a band, so the ever-curious kitten was in his bag rooting around at the bottom and all we could see was her tail hanging out. We had our daily laugh at her antics.

I too, have been fighting off a cold all week. Stayed in bed myself most of the day. I have a litter of Shih tzu's in the paper and people have been calling all day long. I have several appointments tomorrow for people to come and view them. I was too sick to allow anyone over today. Hopefully tomorrow a few of them will go to thier forever homes. Its hard to take care of 6 puppies when you just dont feel well. My husband has the cold too and called in from work yesterday and today, the first time in over 3 years! I hope things get back to normal around here soon!

I went with 3 girlfriends to a craft festival about half an hour from here. I managed to buy gifts for Christmas for a couple of my friends. Then we went and ate Mexican food in a little restaurant in the next town. After eating there we decided to go get some ice cream...it was really good.

I just put together the condiments for our hamburgers tonight. Going to have sweet potato fries with them and baked beans.

Afterwards Mike will clean up the kitchen and I will get comfy and crawl into my recliner where I will probably fall asleep within minutes.

Dried a load of wash. Then got ready to go to the hospital and got there by 10:00. On the way home, I ran into the store for some milk for Mom, and filled up her gas tank. Dang, it was cold out, and I only had on a light jacket.
Just washed another load, and got clothes ready for church tomorrow.

I didn't get out of my jammies until 3 this afternoon. Only got dressed then because I needed to go grocery shopping. It was a cold gray day here. Good day to stay inside and read and watch TV.

I sewed baby stuff! A diaper/wipes case and a couple of changing pads that match.
My nephew's wife is expecting in about a month.
I was so happy to have something to do, the internet and cable tv were out from 8:45am til after 11! Can you imagine???? LOL I'd have been swinging from the ceiling if I hadn't gotten the sewing machine out....all this snow and ice can't go out! :(

DD and I went to a Holiday Boutique today, and then on to a couple of others in nearby town. The Humane Society was having a sale of Christmas decor, so we went there. Welllll............I got a new cat from the shelter. She is a grey striped,about 6 months old, and her name is "Hula" , but think it may change. I held a lot of prettier cats, but she was so loving that I could not resist her. My other cat is pouting upstairs and very ornery when I go up to talk to him. He KNOWS there is a stranger down here. I have her in the downstairs bathroom with litter and food, and she is hunkering down on my towel.

I got up early and went to the lab for some yearly blood tests. Lucky for me, I was smart enough to book an appointment. The line up was literally outside the door! Once that was done, my husband and I went to Starbucks for a coffee and banana bread. I hadn't eaten since yesterday because I had to fast. Then back for my hand x-ray. Once that was done, I went to my Weight Watchers meeting. From there, we went to the "Dutch Store" to pick up some goodies for Christmas stocking for our kids. Then off to the mall to buy my daughter her Christmas gift, only to find the ONE thing I could think of to buy for her sold out. We came home and just did a whole lot of nothing much. I put in a few loads of laundry (one needs to go in the dryer....) and I played bowling on my Wii. Then I tried golf and tennis. I love love love the Wii! Still trying to figure out whats for supper. I just ate a hand full of peanuts, but they won't get me far. LOL

Wow, Sandy, if I'd ironed 5 blouses, I'd call it a productive day!

I babysat toddler grandkids this morning, then went to Walmart where I managed to spend too much time and money. Then I decided to stop in at the casino, not that it was on my way home. All in all, it was a good day.

Had to work tonight, got home a little bit ago. We discharged a bunch of patients today so didn't have to give a long report tonight. We were getting admissions when I left, though. Hope tomorrow is a good day too.

I made a loaf of bread, did some household chores.....I hate cleaning but it had to be done.
Then, I went outside and spent several hours doing hard labor. Digging up old roots and preparing the bed out in front for some flowers. If I can move tomorrow I plan on going to get something to put in and also get some sort of mulch.
I still have some stuff to do in the yard.....since we had a nice rain followed by warm, sunshiny days, lots of cosmos seeds and tomato seeds have sprouted, not to mention the crab grass.
We were going to have company in December for several days and I was really looking forward to seeing them....they called to tell us they decided to go visit his daughter in Portland, OR. It is Roy's cousin and a really nice guy.
We got a call a few minutes ago inviting us to Palm Desert for Thanksgiving. Good friends but she is a lousy cook and I don't like riding in heavy traffic with DH. But we will probably go. They have been friends with DH since they were preteens.....now the guys are almost 78.

I did laundry, laundry and more laundry. Glad it's all done. Jammer tilled the garden. His brother came to visit for awhile and then my oldest son came for a short visit. He brought me a case of Ensure. I've been drinking 2 or more a day, trying to gain some of my weight back. I've gone from 138 to 98. I also wrote in my blog, which I am really enjoying. I also read some in the book, The Shack.

Today was our day to do laundry (laundromat) and then we drove to the Stringtown Amish grocery store, and continued to Kalona.

Had fun spending money everywhere! The bulk items at the Amish store are so reasonable!! Only thing I didn't buy is cheese. Both Ulrike and Owen are vegans, and putting cheese in their fridge just wouldn't go.

We also bought other goodies, just lots of fun mother daughter time today.

DD joined me on a trek with some Red Hatters. We went to Elkhorn Slough, part of a National Research Estuarine Reserve System, on the safari boat to get up close to the sea otters,harbor seals,sea lions and shorebirds. DD took lots of pictures and later we shared a meal of crab and shrimp enchiladas at a local restaurant.

I got out for a few minutes to buy and mail some cards...

But the rest of the day I have sat and kept my foot up...
I really is hurting...Usually I can walk it out but haven't been able to do so since Thursday (when I wore real shoes on an outing instead of my crocks) (remember I stepped on a rock...then stepped in a hole last weekend.)

Good thing I have a bunch of books to read.

Went to two of DGD's basketball games this morning and then met a Ya Ya friend about an hour and a half south and we visited my exDSIL, who's battling breast cancer. In addition, she's having to have her gallbladder removed next week. They're hoping that that's what causing a lot of her nausea, rather than the chemo.

Stopped at McDonalds when I got back in town and then came home and have been catching up with Twinkie tonight. He just "retired" to bed. He hunted and processed deer meat all afternoon and is POOPED!

I'm late to post. I went to a flea market with a friend, and "fellow" rehabber. I bought an old glass jar, a Watt bowl, some homemade fudge...vanilla and maple...and a bag of satsuma oranges. The possums loved the satsumas.

I too have been fighting a cold so feel like I didn't do much. I did wash a load of towels and vacuumed the downstairs. I give all my magazines to my sisters so I tried to go through them to see if I was "done" with them. Made a pizza for supper but I really had a lazy day.

I really got a lot done yesterday. I knew my youngest DD was coming over to help me put my house back together.
I had all the living room furniture moved after cleaning carpets last weekend, and needed her help putting it all back.
I finished putting up the undercounter kitchen lights, then took a break to watch antiques roadshow.
DD arrived and we mopped, dusted, vac'd, and did laundry. Clean the whole house to a sparkle in about 4 hours. It feels so good!
Took her out to dinner, and then we loaded up her car at about 9 pm with all the towels and blankets I collected for the animal shelter she volunteers at. Laid down to watch tv, and that was all I remember until this morning!
It was a great day. A lot accomplished which has been rare around here. I just could not thank my DD enough! What a sweetie.

I didn't accomplish nearly as much as you folks did, but stayed busy just the same. We have company coming for dinner so DH and I got busy cleaning house and I put a pork roast on to cook. Need to get out the laundry today and finish that up.
