Have you ever bought 2 gifts the same?

Have you ever bought the same gift for two different people?

DD said she thought Drew would enjoy a V-Smile.

The more I looked and thought about it, I think Maddie would have fun with it also.

Now I am thinking of buying the same gift for both....is it right or wrong? Drew will be 3 a few days after Christmas and Maddie just turned 4.

Here is a link that might be useful: This is it

Nothing wrong with that at all.
I once gave 5 women in my family a basket of my favorite scent - cologne, potpourri, talcum, and body gel.
I loved it that much.

I don't see anything wrong with buying the same gift for each child if both would enjoy it.

I was just on Garden Value Outlet, and clicked on a few. Apparently their bulbs come from Ednie Bulb Company which is five miles from me, but they're wholesale and don't sell to the public unless it's the end of the season when they put them down by the road. That website wipes out your shopping cart if it's inactive for 20 mins. So I'm back at not having ordered yet. Amaryllis.com has Cybisters, but they're $15 each plus $9.95 for shipping for the three they have (Emerald, Ruby Meyer, and Lima. Sheepers is $4.95 (for NJ) shipping with a minimum of a $35 order, but they don't have Lima. Guess I'll order from them.

I recently ordered a CD from comedienne Jessica Kirson and finally notified her four weeks after my order that I had received nothing. She wrote back herself saying that she had mailed the CD to me and asked if sending a replacement would be satisfactory. I told her it would and that she probably has a new fan somewhere in Los Angeles, since the post office never delivered the package to me. I'll let you know if I ever actually receive the CD, but if you get a chance to see her, she's hilarious. I had also ordered some rug cleaner from a web site recommended by Diana when I wanted to get the smell of dog urine out of the carpet in my bedroom, and I initially ordered two bottles. However, they only sent me one bottle, and so I had to call to complain, and the woman in Shreveport said, "Oh, lawdy mercy, I've just hired some temporary help, and they are just not working out!" and promised to send me the second bottle. Two weeks later I still had not received the replacement, and so I sent her an email, and within a week I received the second bottle. I felt I got decent service from her, and I could sympathize with her plight as a small business owner. I do get peeved if I do not receive an order acknowledgment, but I would not expect to get a discount that was offered after I had purchased something. For me, it is not worth the bother and not really valid. However, if someone lies to me, I will cut them no slack. Fortunately, I am not going through menopause and do not require that product. When I was younger, I would have asked for the discount. Lars Here is a link that might be useful: Jessica Kirson

Have you ever bought anything on Ebay?

I have a great ebay story.... I have both bought and sold, but my favorite was a family bible that I found on Ebay, with a lot of genealogy information in it. I wanted to purchase it for my cousin for Christmas. We are both genealogy nuts, and this bible was from his direct family. As it goes, this huge coffee table bible was a steal at $25.00 but at the last minute, some person came in a we went head to head on this until the price reached $75.00. I had to stop because it was out of my price range, and I was honestly sick to my stomache that I had lost this priceless piece of family history to who knows? I was crushed to say the least. I sent the person an email the next day and told him that I was crushed, but could he possibly photocopy the family info in the bible for me for my family history? Turns out he is a pastor that re-constructs old bibles in his spare time. He said he would sell me the bible, for his cost on one condition....that he would fix the binding and the brass lock on it and mail it to me in perfect condition. I was thrilled ! I got the bible, it was about 8 inches thick and about 100 years old. A real beauty. The pastor would not allow me to pay him for his work or shipping. I sent the bible to my cousin after Christmas, but it was truly a wonderful ebay experience after all. Trin

Have You Ever Bought a Digital Cookbook?

Excellent. Kindle app, updated iOS. So, to use Notes with it, if you want to write something down, check the little tray that comes up when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. If it isn't, find the Notes icon (yellow band on top, with paper lines under--it comes with your iPad and can sync to your iPhone). Press and drag that icon to the tray, then tap done at the top right of the screen. Now, when you're reading the book, if you want to take notes, swipe up to see the tray, hold and drag the Notes icon to on top of the Kindle app (or any app) and let it go. You should get a narrow page of Notes on top of your main app. There's a little gray bar at the top of that which is a handle. You can tap and drag it to other positions on the screen, and if you tap and drag it to the right hand side off the edge of the screen, it'll hide. Drag your finger from the right hand edge, and it'll come back, or show a tab you can tap and drag to pull it into view. Notes automatically saves and is yours to keep. To set a bookmark in the kindle app, which should be in your app, rather than the library book, so should be fine, just tap the upper right hand corner and you should see a little blue flag. Or you can tap the center to see the toolbar and tap the top rightmost flag icon. To see the bookmarks you've set, tap the center to see the toolbar, and tap the third from the top right icon, that looks like a page. That will show your bookmarks with a few words from the page (which may or may not be helpful) and a number which gives the location from the beginning, which you'd have to use a lot to make meaningful, but you can compare the numbers to get a better idea of which bookmark you wanted, like toward the beginning or toward the end. Tap the bookmark and it'll take you there. There will be a little box that will switch you back and forth from where you were to the bookmark, back and forth, if you want to compare, or use a couple of recipes together. You can tap the center to get the full page, and advance or retreat a few pages, and still have the toggle button. I haven't used the in app notetaking, but the link explains it pretty well. If what I've said here isn't clear, just ask and I'll do better. :)

I do not see anything wrong with that at all Connie. In a matter of fact
I usually buy my two girls (ages 28 and 20) the same gift even when they
were younger and still at home.
I am sure it will be very helpful for Drew and Maddie.

I'd do it too. Jayden's only 2 so he's to young, or I'd get him one.

Sure, if it's a good idea that both will like, what's wrong with that.

I bought both my niece and nephew baby first aid kits this year--both are expecting.

If I find a great restaurant, I often buy gift certificates for 2 or more folks there.

Yes, I used to do it quite often if the gift was appropriate for each of the kids/grandkids. When I did it with the kids, I had them open the gift(s) at the same time.....if it was being opened in my home.

Yep...a couple of years ago I bought about 7 of those money jars that count the money as you put it in...I gave those to kids and adults...they all loved them...Denny and I each have one to save all our change in.

I also bought several of those IQ things that guess what you are thinking about...AND I bought myself one too...lol

I love it.

I've done that often, making sure the gifts are age appropriate for each child, of course. 14 year old DGD's other grandmother gives her the same gift she gives her 7 year old DGD, so 14 yr. old has started speaking up and reminding Nanny that she's 14 now!

Yes, I've bought my now niece (10) and nephew (7) the same game/toy before, mainly so they won't fight over it.

How about buying two gifts for the same person forgetting you already gave them one like that?

I did.

Bought my daughter a beautiful picture frame, totally suitable for cycling pictures. Next year the poor girl got another of the same. LOL

LOL I did that once Moni! Bought Drew a Tad Leapfrog and by gosh the next year I bought him another! DD was able to exchange it thank goodness.

I am going to talk to Maddie's Daddy and see if he thinks she would like it but right now I am leaning towards getting 2 of these. They will both open them here, but they're going to 2 different homes. Since they are learning toys I think DS will approve.
