nice.

By Celebrity, I mean a local news gal. But still, I see her every morning on T.V. :0)

I was in the grocery store and she was complaining rather loudly to the store manager about not carrying a certain cheese.

Cheese.... :0)

There weren't very many people in the store, but the ones of us who were, had dropped jaws.

It's just kind of odd behavior because she seems extremely sweet on T.V.

So I wanted to ask..... Have you ever seen a celebrity acting differently then you believed them to be?

Definitely! Local news girl here too. Pushy broad trying to get her kids in the long line in the bathroom before a show (I think it was Arthur). "Don't you know who I am?"!!!

Yep, it was Fred Rogers! He was at a local ski resort restaurant and treated the servers horribly. When we left I stopped and told him behaviour was was beneath him. His jaw nearly hit the table.

The 26 was at the official NWS recording station for Oakland County, which is at Oakland Pontiac International Airport in Waterford, about 3 - 5 miles from my house (depending on WHICH end of the airport complex they have the weather equipment, that I don't know). I actually don't have a good thermometer/weather unit anymore. My last one died. Right now, all I have is a dollar store window thermometer that I think is accurate to about, oh, plus or minus 10 degrees, LOL -- piece of junk, I just bought it for the pretty cardinals printed on the case.

Variegated Plants will very often throw green foliage. Cut it off. It's more vigorous than the variegated (because the green leaves have more chlorophyll) and will take over if not removed. It's not unusual for a variegated plant to have solid cream (or white, etc.) stems and leaves as well as variegated ones (and solid green). These solid cream ones are usually weaker (far less chlorophyll), so are seldom successful as cuttings. So, all that being said....cut off the solid green ones and leave all the rest. If the ......deer (I'm on the rampage right now, myself, so will not get into any adjectives.) will leave it be, it should be okay.

Well, Paul, I went to Roseacres and purchased plants. I had been wanting a Crassula 'Hummel's Sunset' for longer than my brain can recall and James had a ton of them.... almost too hard to decide which one... or more to purchase; bought 2!!!! Also, picked up six more Eurphorbia bupleurifolia x suzannae, I now have an even dozen (hint... hint) and several Euphorbia meloformis or valida... I can never tell the difference, especially at this time of the year because the E. meloformis looses it's nice colored banding. I also couldn't resist a multi-headed Haworthia truncata! Carol msmisk, you need to get GC, it's magnificent. One of DA's very very best. lacosta_nancy, it is the Perfect Bouganvillia: it isn't mine! It is the neighbors. He has all the work of trimming it, and I am the one who can see it. He just sees the backside, the side without any flowers on it. And it didn't get one bit of damage. The neighbor loves shade. Fresh out of college DH worked at a local radio station where the morning host was a well-loved personality -- except to the people who had to work with him!

DH and I did many interviews with TV personalities while championing open adoption records. Those TV lights go on...an entirely different personality lights up too. You have to remember who is The Star and let him or her run with it. Get your message across right off the bat in as few words as possible. (Oprah was certainly 'an experience'.)

Austin is a film town, so yes, I've had semi-close encounters. That would be seeing, but not interacting, with the celebrity. But honestly, I've never seen anyone being any less than polite.

My closest encounter was with Dan Rather out with his grandkid many years ago. Grandkid ran full tilt into me. Mr. Rather was apologetic, and chatted with both me and my son for a few minutes.

My son was friends with Jessica Langes daughter when they were in high school.

They would spend time at our house along at hers. Jessica is one of the nicest people that I have met

DD use to work in CA at Pyramid Lake near Los Angeles as a state employee. They film alot of TV sitcoms there and she said you cannot believe how rude most of the stars were. Yes it was her job to clean up, and keep the state park clean etc, but they (some of the stars) demanded that she do this, that and many times by state laws she could not do what they demanded. I won't name names, but it sure opened her eyes. There were others that were great and really tried to work with state employees and the public.

I suppose they are no different than any other loud mouth you meet on the street or that you work with. We all know some of these people and I suppose celebrities are no different. I can say that I would think that occupation would have more than their fair share though.
