Just a quick update......

First I want to thank everyone for all the beautiful cards and greetings, I treasure them a lot.

I had a malignant brain tumor removed 11-5. Will have follow-up radiology and it should be fully treatable. I also have a malignant uterine tumor. Have to have one more nuclear Pet scan, then I will FINALLY have the tumor removed. Don't know if that one will need further treatment or not. All other tests indicate the two different tumors are probably/possibly not related and GREAT NEWS! has not spread anywhere else. I am truly blessed with great family, great news, great friends here at the KT. I'll check in again next Tuesday. Everyone take care, I miss you all.

It's so good to hear from you. You sound like you have a good attitude about all of this. I'm not sure I could match you in it. I pray that all the follow-up news is just terrific. Continue the updates please. They're much appreciated. Hugs and prayers go out daily to you and all of your family.

Hi Heather, Congrats on your mangoes...its great that you ended up with two different crops, that way you can extend your season. Frost did a number on my trees, so they are recovering this year. I only have two (robin's egg) size on my small tree, not sure if those will make it to maturity? My potted Glenn mango bloomed a second time, and I have a few(pea size) on that...we'll see if they make it also? There will be a Mango Mania Festival on Pine Island Rd in Cape Coral in July. I will try and make it out there. that may be the only way I can eat some this year. They are my favorite fruits! I also have some family that live there. Thank you all so much for your messages. In case any of you hear the song "I'm so excited" from the Pointer Sisters anytime soon, that's been my theme song this week! I figure I have a long wait (it seems to me) until my doctor's appointment but God is teaching me to be patient through all of this, it's a lot of waiting. So right now, I am embracing the excitement and I'm going to try not to worry until I have a real reason to! I am so convinced that the prayers everyone said for me and my positive attitude (even when it was hard to not get negative and worried) totally contributed to my test results coming back in my favor. I also eliminated a lot of stress in my life and it's changed my life tremendously. I'll surely never be the same after this experience and I am a little excited about that (in a weird kind of way, of course). This surely has made me a better person, I'd never thought I'd say that about a cancer battle. :)

Lily Update: In the hospital

Lily got to come home this afternoon. She has been asleep since she got home. I had a little talk with her on the way home from the hospital. I told her that she has used up her lifetime of drama and she is only 4 1/2 months old. All of this drama and worry over nothing more than puppy teething. Meghane, we have Purdue Univerisity Vet School here in West Lafayette, IN. They aren't as prestigious as some of the big east coast schools, but they are excellent in spinal reseach and treatment and also urology. Considering we have 3 doxies we are grateful to be living here. We are fortunate to be working with Dr. Adams with our Gracie's urinary problems. He is supposed to be one of the top 5 Urologists. My DDIL is going through this same process right now. She is so looking forward to her last chemo treatment this week - will be happy to see the last of it! Fingers crossed that your CT scan is positive and the rest of your treatment goes well.

DF, I'm a cancer survivor. I had radiation and the worse part is you have to schedule your day around it. Attitude is so important and I think you've got it under control. You'll just get better and stronger every day!!! All these folks at the KT are praying for you.

Sister always said, that radiation was so hard because she had to lay so still. Xanax helped a ton! As time went on she found she could bring her own pillow, and make sure to ask for a blanket. It is so cold in those treatment rooms!!

Be the boss when it comes to your comfort.
