Hopefully my chicken breast will be thawed soon. I'm planning on Pecan Crusted Chicken, Spinach and I don't know what else. Maybe buttery new potatos.

Those of you who haven't tried quinoa, it's a yellow grain that expands. I don't cook it for the 20-30 minutes as some recipes state. I like a bit of crunch, so 14 minutes thereabouts suits us fine.

Sausages sliced, with carrots and onions. A balsamic vinegar, honey and seasonings stirred in to coat.

Had to be up and at the 'stone center' early this morning for lithotripsy--what on earth does that have to do with dinner? Well, DH has been working 12 hour days, and we spend our weekends (what little there is of them) at the country house.

Anyway.... I've been hanging on to a $10 Bahama Breeze coupon, hoping we could use it before it expired. Since he had to take today off to be my 'support person' I got my chance. He had their chicken Kebobs, I ordered the little beef-filled turnover things (it's an appetizer, but I order that and a salad and it makes a nice dinner). Was nice to get a chance to go out, and to eat dinner at a reasonable time for a change.

I've never tried quinoa, but yours looks so good I'm going to have to try it. Where would I find it at the grocery? By the rice maybe??

Patti, quinoa is hard to find at our grocery stores.
What I did, is buy a bit at the bulk store, to make sure we even liked it, before I bought a bag. It's also expensive, but maybe you can get it on sale, like I did.

We love it, so now I buy it at Costco. It doesn't replace rice in our household, but it sure is good as a treat.

It's got lots of healthy benefits as well. Rinse it first, and you can buy pre-rinsed.

Six of us again for supper. I fixed a big meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli, baked apples, yeast rolls, iced tea and white chocolate macadamia cookies. I am going to bed soon. Hope all had a nice day.

Went to Applbees and had my free Veteran's Day dinner!!

Brown sugar glazed ham stakes, season mashed potatoes & sausage-country gravy, and corn. I'm a lousy cook so I don't try anything much more complicated then that.

I'm the only girl DM had and the only child that don't cook. Thanks to the military time spent in foreign countries, my older brother is a gourmet chef. My younger brother can turn out some fantastic meals and is extremely hard to beat if he's using a BBQ or Smoker, he'll be the first to tell you that the eldest has him beat hands down.

Thursday is Emi's night to cook at our house! She made chicken breasts, which she covered with cream of chicken soup and baked, along with baked potatoes and peas! It was delicious. That girl is going to be able to feed herself well, once she is grown and on her own.

Funny how different kids are. Oldest daughter didn't really learn to cook until she was in her mid 20's. She just took no interest in it. Son basically taught himself to cook during his pre-teen and teen years. He likes good food and enjoys preparing it. Emi didn't know how to cook when I married her dad two and a half years ago, but is becoming a really good cook with help from her step-mom :-)

I made a big pot (HOW do you make a small pot?? I cannot do it!) of ham and bean soup. It will be better today! =) I always like soup after the first day...everything mells together better! It is cold and rainy (poss flurries) so a big pot of soup for the weekend is just right.
