What's for dinner 11/9?

I found a honey-baked ham bone in the freezer so we're having ham and bean soup (great northern beans) with cornbread. This is the last day of the cold front so I'm taking advantage of it!

What are you having tonight?

I'm having fried fish tonight; it was going to be a hamburger and salad but I had thawed the fish, so......! I hear this is the last of our unusually mild weather. It has really been grand.....no jacket to work outside. Wish it would stay this way a bit longer, but this is Minnesota. The hunters are wailing about no snow to track their deer, of course.

Hello all. Life keeps getting in the way but I'm still here. Here's a cut and paste from another forum for starters. This was 2 nights ago. Well my day has started with a bang and I haven't been to bed yet. Around 2:30 am the dogs went crazy in the neighborhood. Our Rottie went absolutely nuts and I couldn't see what was going on so I called her back in. Our Lab who has a touch of Coonhound went out and joined in but not like the Rottie. Shasta (the Rot) became extremely stressed when I tried to keep her in so after distracting her with play for a bit I let her go out in the backyard again around 4:30. Both dogs started going at the rear side fence and then I heard a splash, a crash and a lot of hissing, high pitched barking. Got DH up and we saw the dogs had crashed through the fence and they and a large racoon were all in the neighbors in ground pool. DH goes around to the neighbors yard and I stay on our side. He's in the neighbors yard trying to corral 2 large dogs who are jumping in and out of the pool trying to get at the coon swimming in circles and the neighbors are nowhere to be seen. Finally the neighbors turn on an upstairs light and call out their bedroom window to ask what is going on and DH tells them they have a coon in their pool. They don't say anything and turn out the light. DH finally get both dogs back thru the fence. We get them in the house. He gets hammer and nails and repairs the fence. It is still dark and still no sign of neighbors in spite of all the commotion going on in their yard. So now I'm sitting here waiting for 2 wet dogs to dry and the Rotti is strutting around so proud of herself for taking care of the" intruder" and our Lab/Coonhound acts like he just had a fantastic playdate at a pool party. See life in the suburbs isn't always all that dull either. DH had our anniversary dinner on Tues. Tonite I have a Red Hat dinner and on Sat. I have a Red Hat picnic. FOOD and more FOOD. I'm not losing but I'm not gaining either. This is good ;) but I really need to get back on the program and go for he next ten pounds. Jen, WW is great because unless you do their CORE program there are no bad foods. Lots of peeps have great success with the Points System. I don't so I do an old style food exchange plan from the 80's. Great going Trekaren. Welcome Jen and Mooner. Waving at ya LL. Come and post Ruthie.

Here I go, using KT recipes.... Jae tn's Wet burritos, cole slaw, and Pixiestix's Hot milk cake. The cake will have strawberries or peaches with it. We are also having beergaritas!! (Have you ever had the latter? Pretty good.)

Shirley, it sounds like you ate at Sue's house! LOL! Gayle, I wish we had a take-out restaurant nearby that had that. I'd probably eat in/out a lot! I needed a reminder about steaks. I bought a bunch when they were on sale a while back. Still to hot for chicken and dumplings but it sure sounds good. Ah, well. It'll be cold enough pretty soon. I would like to go with Lil, especially if she took Boston cream pie. I straightened out our freezer today and made a vow not to buy any more meat until I've used up a lot of what I already have. I could probably start a mini-meat market :0

Leftovers, fried rice from a Chinese dinner I bought Sunday night on my way home from work and homemade chili mac with spiral colorful noodles, plus bread and Lauren ate a small ham, cheese and cream cheese sandwich and is now making some concoction on the stove with a new herb she insisted I try and pasta.

Pork chops done on the grill, steamed rice and I got some nice yellow crook neck squash that I am going to fry with onion and bacon.

hot dogs (hebrew national)and chili on top...well at least for dh..i'm happy with a little of the chili "juice"...the kind he likes is pretty spicey!

will have dessert tonight...sugarless ice cream...

This was sister's night at the Home w/Annie. I made myself a sandwich using a Thomas bagel thin, spread with a Laughing Cow herb/garlic wedge and romaine lettuce. Broccoli/Cheese soup and a hot fudge sundae from McDonald's. I should have done without ONE of those things as I'm a little overly full.

Had a stiry-fry beef and cabbage over rice. It was a new recipe for me. I put 2 tbsp sesame oil in, but it needed yet more heat.

This weather is SO awesome isn't it Phyllis?! I am loving it and wishing it would stay til March! Then we could get a little snow and slide right into spring!! LOL I highly doubt I will get my wish. ND can be so beautiful in the fall!

We had homemade pizza. NOT my favorite. DH however, loves the stuff.

Greek salad and greek burger. Did the burgers on the grill with Greek seasoning, feta and tzitziki. It was sooo good. We also smoked 1/2 a fresh turkey breast for tomorrow. I marinated it in a tequilla lime marinade. I sampled and it was delish.

Chicken Alfredo Lasagna with a spinach filling. This was a new recipe that I found on line, but I didn't exactly follow the recipe :-) It turned out pretty good and is one that I will make again.
