Good afternoon, y'all! I've been up and out since 9 this morning for our sorority. A friend and I drove over to Kemah/beach area to the Hilton where our sorority was having an Arts & Crafts day and board meetings. We just went to sell ESA aprons that one member made. We sold a lot of them, and we shopped a LOT! Every chapter had at least one table and sold handmade items from small bags of snacks to fruit cakes, quilts, painted items and lots of Christmas gift items. I bought decorated gift baskets to hold my homemade fudge for neighbor gifts this year, goodies to include in my WV friend's Christmas box, and soup mixes, jellies, pickles, and chili mixes to include in stockings. One chapter was selling paperback and hardcover mysteries, and I really stocked up there! Once I read everything, I'll donate the books for our community Expo in January where we (ESA) have a table and pass out literature about St. Jude hospital and try to earn $$$ to send to them. We sell the books for 50 cents each, and last year we were able to mail St. Jude a check for $33.50! Viki and I stopped on the way to the event at a Tuesday Morning store and had a blast mostly just lookingm too. Once I rest a bit, I have to fix my corn casserole to take for the covered-dish luncheon at church tomorrow. I love that stuff, but it's terribly fattening, so I'll just make a very small dish of it for us and the rest for tomorrow. Tikanis, I like how you emphasized 'considering'! Happy puttering to you! Raeanne, you get to attend some neat sounding parties. Things aren't quite that upscale around here, but that's alright. It is what it is, right? Suzanne, that video was a hoot! Thanks for posting it. Glad you finally spotted your fox! The dr. told hubby to continue eating red meat because his hemoglobin count has dropped some, so we're having grilled steak and baked sweet potato (me) and red potatoes (hubby) and salad for dinner. I'm already hungry as lunch at the event wasn't all that exciting or filling. Once he gets that grilled fired up, I'll be ready to eat! Wishing everyone a relaxing Saturday evening!

Ruthie, been thinking about your plateau a lot. Some random thoughts: Last time in WW, I set my goal at 145. What happened? I stopped right there. I do not know why but it set a mental block in my mind that anything past that was not achievable. (You know they always say it's just the 'lifetime' goal but you can go further if you want). So this time they also wanted to set 145, but I asked them to make my LT 141 :-) Just figured once I get there I'll need that extra push. So here I started at 170, I'm currently at ~162, feel way better although NOWHERE near how I feel when I"m at LT goal. After reading your thoughts, I thought about myself. So for me what's the diff between 145 and 135 that might give me my own internal push to hit the next 'goal'? I think 145 to me means somewhere between a 10 and a 12. 135 would mean a solid 10! So for me, to push myself past that mental wall, I am going to set a size goal and not a weight goal. That way my mind wont play tricks on my weight!!! Ruthie, hope my random thoughts help you to evaluate what type of 'goal' you can define that will mean the difference of getting past the wall. I mean "passing 145" isnt really enough of a goal - at least so far it hasnt worked for you. But maybe a size goal? Maybe a weight goal? Maybe an exercise goal? You just need a new goal!!!! Maybe a weekly goal. "By this time next week I will do ______". That way you do it in weekly increments. At least you'll have something defined to shoot for!! Hope this is helpful.

Some dee-licious meals! Marigene, your pasta dish sounds great. Thanks for the recipe, gadgets. Laura, you deserve to be treated like a queen. You've had a rough time and I'm happy to hear that you were pampered. :-) Sue, what a fun day! I love chickens. I had a friend some time ago who had several, one of whom (Martha) loved him to pieces. She would come roaring across the yard whenever she saw him, wanting to cuddle and be carried around. Ooh, ellendi! That's my kind of place! The food, I mean. Too bad about the rotten service, what a shame. Terri, I'm happy that you had all of your family this weekend. I love good ribs! I've got some in the freezer that I'll probably fix this week. Sounds great, Bob! Oh dear, ellendi.....no recipe. :-( Let me work on it and I'll come up with something useful.

YogaLady--LOL! Pizza it is!! Tami, what would we do without our crockpots? I can't wait until I can have a nice roast again. Jasdip, yowzer--that's some salad!! I don't think the sausage will hurt much. Enjoy!! Glenda, I love those sausage balls. Looks like you have people thinking of different foods to serve at church!! Shirley, yes 'tis September. The leaves will be turning before you know it. And we'll be cooking stews and soups. Sue, as usual, your dinner sounds delicious. Purple chicken coop, huh? I had brain overload yesterday. The phone rang about 5 or 6 times Thursday afternoon and every single call was for appointments on Tuesday. I had to change Harry's lab work to 9, which means I have to miss my morning radiation. The last call was from Harry's primary saying she HAD to see him Tuesday. (Well, sorry, it's my chemo day.) She wasn't happy and I ended up in tears. After chemo I have to pick up my prescription for the syringes to flush my picc line. Have to go to a special pharmacy for them. Then home to interview/be interviewed by cleaning service, then my afternoon radiation. Wednesday morning after rad. I have to take Harry to G-ville to the doctor. So I had a bit of a meltdown.

All of those suppers sound really good.

Marilyn...I love seafood better than a hog loves slop! Your gumbo sounds mighty good.

I will probably grill some shrimps up, serve over basmati rice with a salad. Some fresh bakes rolls and sweet tea.

Probably sauteed brussel sprouts and a salad.

I'm just thinking about lunch which is Pizza Hut supreme and a pepperoni pizza, Dinner could be chicken salad and Romaine lettuce. This annoying cough takes all the cooking right out of me.

Cubed steak, lightly fried, and then simmered with onions in brown gravy. Sides will be rice, butterbeans, and fried green tomatoes. Oh...and boiled whole okra. (I've been craving okra the past few days.)

i wasn't much in a cooking mood today but we've been eating out far too much...so since no one felt like getting out I got in the pantry and baked up this Turkey Stew with dressing on top...it was in a box...then I made some instant mashed potato's and opened a jar of canned green beans from my sister's garden...we had a meal ready in 20 minutes and it was really good...i felt like I cheated but hubster and teeny bopper loved it!! there wasn't any leftovers...that says something!!

After church we went to a local restaurant for dinner. I still can't eat a lot at a time so I had 1 enchilada and some sliced avocado. Absolutely delicious! Tonight will probably be some of the Chicken spaghetti that a lady in the church brought me yesterday.

Peanut Butter Chicken, over rice. I can't wait, we haven't had this for almost a year! It's been cooking all afternoon and is ready to go, just have to make the rice. We'll feast during the Amazing Race.

This is in a tomato-based sauce with onions, garlic, cayenne, peas, mushrooms and just a little peanut butter.

My DD and I had a shopping day and stopped at Ruby Tuesdays for dinner....What a disappointment! It had been some time since I had eaten there and now I know why I haven't been back...Nothing on the menu looked that good so I went with the salad bar...Getting my salad, I was behind another couple and they kept saying the dishes are dirty...Sure enough, every dish they picked up, was dirty, warm and still wet as though it had just come our of the dish washer....After the couple complained, they brought out more dishes and it was the same...They finally asked to see the manager and he came out with sparkling clean dishes...He also tried to explain how this could happen...Not my idea of a fun dinner!

No cooking here again today. DH, Makayla and I went to the mall for some errands
so we went to Ruby Tuesday's. DH had salad bar and spinach dip, I had salad bar and
brocolli cheese soup and Makayla had a grilled cheese. Service we great, they remodled
the restaurant so we had a very good linner (lunch and dinner mix)!!!
If anyone gets hungry later they are on their own.
