shingles shot

Got mine about 2 weeks ago.
I knew it was expensive and did not think my insurance covered it. Boy, was I wrong! Turns out it is covered under my prescription insurance!
So, go to your pharmacy and ask them what your copay would be, then you will know for sure. My copay was $35.01. And for years I thought it wasn't covered! Don't be a dummy like I was and not ask!
Now, I don't want to scare anyone, but I did have a mild reaction to it. They tell you it will cause a red circle around the shot, and do not take Benadryl. 5 days later my arm was itching like crazy, the circle was red, hot and bumpy. Stopped in at the docs office, nurse checked with doc who said take Benadryl. And if I have trouble breathing head to the ER.
2 days of Benadryl and all was fine, still a little itchy, but not bad.
It's been 2 weeks now and no more problems.
