Hmmmmmm......that is a dilemma.LOL I actually think it looks good white.Also if you paint it another color I think it would look out of place with the other white doors there and the white wood work.I guess if you painted it the color of the walls and left the trim white it might look OK. I don't know,I have never thought of painting the inside of a front door.

I'd leave it white. I can't think of another color that wouldn't look out of place, like lilliepad said.

You could add more moulding to make the door more interesting though. Take the same moulding that's bordering your stained glass window and make another box underneath it on the bare part of the door. It wouldn't be inset like a typical door but I've seen this done on decorating shows and it does add some interest to an otherwise boring or plain door. Just a thought....which I know doesn't pertain to color like you asked but the idea just popped into my head so I thought I'd mention anyway.

I'd go with white too. Glossy white.

You could have someone come in and do a faux wood look (or try your hand at it)if you really dislike the white. My DB did this at his house and you'd think it was natural wood.

Your wall color on my moniter looks very similar to mine and I painted my door and all the molding a light gray shade. I don't care for stark whites on the door as cold and uninviting and I like the doors and moldings to match unless they are very ornate and need to be seen and appreciated more. Your look is very clean lines and simple I would go very light gray for the accent (not to pop). And use some of the gray as accents in accessories around the rest of the area.
It is all about what you want to see and feel in your home, have fun and do what feels good for you.

If you don't like white...you could go with a beige or tan...but I'd do all the woodwork in that room the same color.

Personally, I like the white with the shade your walls are.

But if you don't--your trim looks like older wood. If it is, I bet it's beautiful. Why not strip it? If necessary, you could restain, but I stripped my dining room some years back--and the chestnut underneath just needed to be sealed and it's gorgeous.

i like the idea of some extra moldings on the bottom half, too...the glass is stunning....but the stark bottom is distracting...stay with white...

I wouldn't paint it unless you're going to paint ALL the woodwork and other doors...

My guess is the trim is pine...It doesn't always take a pretty stain...

I don't think it is old because it is the narrow trim.

But you could use trim pieces and trim the bottom part of the door to look like retangle boxes. It would give the door more character.
