Some of my hand made card samples

In one of my earlier posts about sheet music, Stoneybaloney asked me to post a sample when I had it finished. Here you go! Sorry, they are huge, but I have a headache, and can't concentrate enough to make them smaller.

On Eagles Wings Sympathy card is done on cream/ivory card stock ( I think it came from Staples) Using Stampendous Stamps R103 Music Score, StacyStamps 1002G Eagle (my brother designed this one!), Versa Fine Onyx Black ink to stamp all images, and chalks to color the eagle. I cut out the eagle and mounted him with pop dots on the front.

The inside verse is Stampendous N040 Wings of Eagles, Stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

This is done on the same paper as the others using the cloud template from PrintWorks Collection and Ranger Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire swiped on with a piece of craft sponge inside a piece of panty hose, swiping from the template onto the card stock so you don't get blobs of color, changing the direction of the template each time you move it. The verse is cut with a Spellbinder's die, distressing with the same ink just around the edges and stamped with SonLight Crafts, Inc. stamp # 421C.

Stoney, you can use this idea for your verse. Maybe find a star stamp to add in silver scattered in it.

This is the one I was thinking about when I posted asking about the sheet music. I used the same music stamp from Stampendous for the music (I still haven't installed the new printer to print what I really want), distressed it with the Ranger Distress Ink in Brushed Cordoroy, the flowers weren't what I wanted, but it needed something and those were the closest I could find to make a sample without digging thru everything, but they are a stubbie from Stamps by Judith. The cut out is one of the dies from Spellbinder's, actually a larger one of the same set I used on Thoughts and Prayers. The inside is House Mouse designs by Stampa Rosa, Inc. #276 House Mouse Silent Mice. That was colored with chalks. Images were stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black.

What kind of chalks did you use? Are they found with the rubber stamps?

Donna, we can help you use up some of your fabric stash. In between holidays here, we love to do pretty tablescapes. Just think of the placemats and napkins you could make to go with your dishes! Then there's also table runners, chair cushions, chair back covers, tea pot cozies, etc. etc. etc. LOL Do you remember the fabric scrap wreaths? I made a huge one on a straw base, you just cut squares of fabric and pinned them onto a straw wreath. Then another one was fabric squares gathered on one of those U pins and pushed into the wreath so it looked like a "puff". I think I have a couple of those still around here. They were fun and easy to do, and a good way to use up leftover scraps of fabric. Do you like to quilt too? Have you made any wall hangings? Some of those are so neat. You can probably tell that I love talking about crafts and seeing all the great things people create. I've had lots of fun exploring some of the blogs, so many creative people out there! Luvs

I have that verse but it has another sentence to it. the last sentence after She is now your guardian Angel, is....Watching over you from above. Kathy...I have it saved on my computer if you want it. I made my card very small with small but readable print. Then cut the edges with those fancy sissors. and hung it on the ornament. patti

skyedog, that is very interesting...All of the colors that I'm looking for are in the 900's, which I believe are neutral pale colors--colors I would never have even looked at a few years ago. Maybe they fell out of favor with the public. I'm repainting a red dining room (had this color for close to 10 years and would like a change!)and want something light. After scouring the internet looking for ideas, many of the BM colors I want chips for are in the 900 range. It's senseless to me to order multiple sample pots without seeing the chip in the setting. It's possible, as ttodd said, that these chips are available under another name/number. That is something I hadn't thought of when I when I inquired about the chips. At least SW has many neutral pale colors on a separate display with large cards...

Thank you! Yes, CB, the chalks are found with the rubber stamps, at least in any craft or stamp store I've been in. They really aren't complicated, at least, once you figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it. Really, the easiest one was the Thoughts and Prayers card. Cut the card stock, lay the template over it, swipe the inked sponge across the template onto the card stock, re-position the template, repeat. Cut whatever shape you want to the size you want for the verse, stamp it, and you are finished! Hmmmmm, sky, torn paper snow, snowman stamp......

Gee, the ideas flow a LOT better when you don't have a headache! It finally went away, but it got worse before that. I finally "rested" in my chair for about 15 minutes, not really sleeping, but not awake, either. I really need to think of something simple for the exchange, because I'd rather do postcards than full cards for cheaper postage. Which means nothing fancy with lots of layers to get caught in the machinery at the post office.

VERY nice, Tami. I really like your eagle stamp combined with that scripture, and placed on the sheet music ... that's a good idea! I hope you don't mind if I scrap-lift it! LOL

I love House Mouse! I have a few of those stamps and could easily buy a dozen more just because they're so sweet.

The clouds are a good idea for my verse, I will play around with that concept. I keep thinking of stamping with various shades of dark blue to make a night sky, and maybe have a little house stamped in a gray-ish so it can be seen. Then either use my glitter pen to make the stars, or poke holes in the front to be the stars and have a bright silver from the inside shine through. I would want it to look serene and peaceful. Not sure I can pull it off ...

I have friends who look at a stamp and go AHA! and then 15 minutes later they have a beautiful card. Unfortunately I don't have that talent. I tend to spend HOURS creating a card, making as many versions as necessary til I get it just right.

Stoney, yes, you can scrap-lift it! You could try tiny silver glitter glue dots for your stars. They also have glitter pens that would maybe work. They look like glittery gel pens. I'll keep thinking for some more ideas.
