This is a good thread, very enjoyable. There are so many favorites, but two that are special to me are: 1. I'll Be Home for Christmas. My father would tell us every time that the song came on about how this was the song they played on the ship on his way to Germany during the Korean War. It became such a funny thing that when I was older, I would end up calling him when I would hear it and say "Dad, did I ever tell you about the time you were on a ship in the army and they played "I'll Be Home for Christmas?...well it's on the radio right now". What a great guy he was, miss him a lot. 2. "Oh Holy Night" a memory created only about 6 years ago--we were on a cruise for Christmas, and we were leaving St. Lucia on Christmas Eve, so standing at the aft of shift watching the island disappear, this was the song that was softly playing on the ship's PA system. Oh, the goosebumps I get. I still don't know if it was Celine Dion or Gloria Estefan singing it. So of course, I have both versions on my iTouch.

This is difficult to narrow down. Here goes: Book: "To Kill a Mockingbird". I read it at least once a year. Song: "Till There Was You" , Beatles. DH and I used to sing it to our babies. He would play it on the guitar and we would both sing. Maybe that's why they went to sleep so quickly-to escape our singing! Movie: Dr. Zhivago. On a snowy night DH and I went to see the movie and were only a handful of those who braved the storm to see it. It was in an old theater with the red velvet drapes around the screen. Beautiful song Lynn. This TSO Christmas Canon Rock version is my favorite. Her voice is stunning. It gives me chills everytime I hear it. Uffda!!! Couldn't leave THIS subject alone! Born in Sept. 1961.....I got to listen to some cool late 60's stuff! LOVED the Monkees, & their CAR!! We grew up farming in E-Central ND, so THANK GOD Fargo's Rock station came in decent. Not sure why, but never did like country-music much. The Oak-Ridge Boys singing was nice tho'. THEN.......KISS caught my attention in 1974, & I was absolutely HOOKED!! The Stones', Led-Zepplin, Beatles, the Who, BTO, Jackson-5, KC & the Sunshine Band, etc. Next up....RUSH really caught my interest in a BIG way. AC/DC: An early cause of hearing loss....."Hiiiiiiiigh-way to hellllllll". STILL the world's greatest Band. The growling during "Thunderstruck". The genius of Bagpipes in "It's a long way to the Top....". The big-a$$ Bell in "Hell's Bells". The old-school Cannons in "For those about to Rock". CHILLS up my spine I tell you.....CHILLS! VAN-HALEN. OH. MY. LORD..............."Runnin' with Devil". Good grief! When I first heard that iconic tune, & saw that STUD Album cover, DLR's screaming, Michael Anthony's Bass intro.....it was game-over for Faron!!!! I literally stuttered "What the hell is this" with my jaw on the floor! Damn it.....my volume only goes to 12.............. ;-) Faron HS Class of 1979.
