If you have a Briggs engine, they recommend that you use synthetic oil. Use 5w-30 below 30 degrees and 10w-30 above. I just keep 5w-30 synthetic oil in mine year round. Never have any problems and I start it once every couple of months and let it run for about 30 mins each time. I plug one of those halagon floor lights into it. Since I bought mine, I think we lost power once for about an hour. Before we bought the generator, we would loss power a few times a month.

Hi, I would recomend going for the higher 1,000w dimmer. They do cost about twich as much however and I only found them on the net. The critical thing is heat dissapation. When you look at a dimmer, they have metal tabs on either side of them. These tabs dissapate heat. You can also run the dimmer at a lower rating if you remove one or both tabs. You may have to do this in order to butt the dimmer up against the other switches you have in your light control box. Also in general running a dimmer at a lower rating means more longevtity, so you should not need to replace the dimmer as often. Best, Mike.

this is off topic but do any of you miele washer owners have the machine on the second floor? I was just about to take the plunge and order the washer, but noticed some posts about terrible vibrations with the spin cycles of the miele washer on the second floor. I currently have a Bosch FL on the second floor and have no vibration issues. The bearings are going out and I have never been terribly satisfied with the Bosch. The last thing I want is to create another problem aka vibration. I just can't seem to make my mind up about a washer. Every machine seems to have such mixed reviews. I wish Miele made a 27inch machine for the times when you wash a queen down comforter or thick mattress pad. Rococogurl assures me that her queen sheets and bedding fit in the machine, but I can't imagine as I can barely squeeze the queen mattress pad in the 27" Bosch, plus it doesn't really seem like it gets cleaned properly because there is so little water that it is hardly wet. I have other miele appliances - DW, fridge, ovens - and while I love, love, love my DW, I have to say that miele service is really dependent on where you live and the service provider in your area. OK now I've really taken this off topic- sorry. I did print out the cheat sheet which is amazingly informative.

Well, here goes nuthin’. Isn’t poultry skin always crispy when baked in a hot oven? Mine is. I can see that adding baking powder and a quick dry could change things but a dry brine changes the skin to a crispness, lightness, tastiness that is distinct to dry brining. YMMV. I’m not a very fussy cook. I love quick and easy, but also long roasts and simmers. I could never work in a tv kitchen and do the fussy cutting and detail work with only unusual and top quality ingredients they do. For me it’s isn’t usually necessary. Dry brining usually is, though I certainly pan fry plenty of chicken parts without it.

Glenda, the wildebeests (Gnu) and Zebra also eat well together. One eats the taller stuff and the eats the shorter. One night in Africa we were sitting around the camp fire and heard the Zebras running and "barking". We knew something was after them and we were relieved the next morning, not to find remains. The wildebeests get their name Gnu from the sound they make. when I look back at my life I can't believe I've been to all of those wonderful places. I could hardly believe it when I was actually there. LOL
