I finally got vaccinated for shingles.

The shingles vaccine has been hard to find around here, and since I was on the fence about getting the shot anyway, I didn't make the effort. But suddenly it's widely available, and after writing an article for the newspaper about it I decided to Just Do It. So I got the shot at our local Rite Aid pharmacy yesterday.

I also got a flu shot this year because we have a baby in the family. After getting a bad reaction eight years ago, I stopped getting them. Happy to report no problem with it this year.

If you're thinking about getting the shingles vaccine, it's available to people 50 and older now. The minimum age used to be 60.
