Here are photos of the mini quilt I received from my swap partner

Remember I showed you the one I made for her... well, this is the one that she sent to me. I LOVE it! It's tiny, only 6.5" square and I love small things. It's clever- it's a pop-up quilt and that just tickles me to bits. It's an engineering marvel and because it's so small, that made it extra hard to make.

In each window is a cat doing something pirate-y, because my partner knows that I adore cats and am intrigued by beach/pirate stuff. She actually printed some of those images onto fabric so she could sew them into the castle. So here is her "Pirate Cats' Sand Castle". What is so funny is that she and I BOTH were making castles at the same time!

I'm very pleased with this swap, I've had some outstanding partners and they make me the coolest little mini quilts. She also sent me a rubber stamp set, some chocolate goodies, and some fabrics. What a bunch of booty!

I'm so happy with what you've sent: A very nice card and note Creeping Sedum - new for me Heliopsis 'Lorraine Sunshine' - Love the foliage on this!! Last night we were in a frost advisory, and I've not been feeling well, picked up some kind of nasty cold virus, so I decided my plants were on their own. Theresa, I'm so glad the package made it ok. I'll have a lot more to share in the spring. So, if any of these don't make it, ask to be paired up with me in a swap. I lost so many plants when my Mom died. I had to re-purchase almost everything. Lots of my stuff is still small and needs to grow. My plant stand is totally full now- after several plant shows, plant orders/trades. By spring, I'm sure everything will need to be trimmed. My favorite (that I sent) are the variegated streps. When they first came out on ebay they were $300 each! What a collector doesn't pay when they want something badly! Youtube has strep propagation videos, Rob's violet barn has lots of strep info (plus step by step) instructions on how to prop leaves. I also have some scented streps, mini streps, and a huge scented strep that's a monster in size! Most have to wait until spring before I can harvest leaves. Plus, I have "Silverglades" named violets (from South Africa) around 72 varieties. Deb

AM, I also smiled at the thought of you driving around, peeling tape off the box at the red lights. (grin) That pottery is lovely and the book looks very interesting, Mediterranean cooking is supposed to be very, very healthy. Sorry, Dianna55... IT'S ME! IT'S ME! Thank you Donna (Lackboys3). When the FedEx truck was coming down the street, I just knew that for once it wouldn't be computer parts for DH or yet another present from a grandparent for DS, but for ME! How did you know that I broke the handle off my last favorite oversized mediterranean yellow coffee mug (I had already broken the other one in the pair) this past weekend? I almost went shopping for replacement mugs, but I showed great restraint and kept my shopping to my swap partner only. Thank you for a gorgeous pair of replacements. And the coffee and the spoons and the book to go with it. This is so much fun! Did you know that manatees are my most favorite sea creature of all? (DS will love the cookies too!) A favorite book of his that we have to sing/read with great regularity, is "I'm a Manatee" by John Lithgow. I mean, how can you not love lyrics like... I'm a manatee, I'm a manatee. I'm every bit as wrinkled as my grann-atee. No difference between my face and fann-atee. A noble manatee, That's me. Thank you again, Donna, for such a wonderful swap package. Ann PS... Kayaks have pointy ends, front and back, and the paddles (not oars) have blades on both ends. But I really like your drawing! Have you thought of a new career as an illustrator?

Why, Fran? I don't understand, I guess. I've been really pleased with all the Flickr swaps I've been in, mostly. Only twice have I gotten something that's "not me" or shabby. Usually what I receive blows me away with its coolness. But more than that, the fun we have during the swaps is very entertaining.

Oh! That is really clever!!! I've never seen anything quite like it. Did she design it herself? I can appreciate how difficult it was,,,, mini's are tricky. What a treasure for you, Flamingo!

That is super cute! I think it's great when the swappers really take their partner's likes and dislikes into account... it looks like both of you really did! Not to mention the creativity and time you both put into the projects.

I meant I don't get involved in swaps because I could never make something that cute and creative...not that I am concerned that I won't like what I get.

Wow! That is so cleaver and cute. It is a perfect fit!

The path she has leading up to the castle door looks like the same fabric that you used for your castle.
Those are so much work!

My partner told me she got this idea from a pop-up card.

Judy, it is the same fabric, my partner asked me for a little piece to use in her quilt and I sent it to her. I like that we both used it.

WOW! I am not a sewer by any definition of the word, so this stuff amazes me. Both her quilt and the quilt you made for her are excellent. It's awesome that she tried to put so much of your personality in it! Thanks for sharing, Pidge.
