Here are photos of the mini quilt I received from my swap partner

Remember I showed you the one I made for her... well, this is the one that she sent to me. I LOVE it! It's tiny, only 6.5" square and I love small things. It's clever- it's a pop-up quilt and that just tickles me to bits. It's an engineering marvel and because it's so small, that made it extra hard to make.

In each window is a cat doing something pirate-y, because my partner knows that I adore cats and am intrigued by beach/pirate stuff. She actually printed some of those images onto fabric so she could sew them into the castle. So here is her "Pirate Cats' Sand Castle". What is so funny is that she and I BOTH were making castles at the same time!

You can click on these photos to see bigger images if you'd like.

I'm very pleased with this swap, I've had some outstanding partners and they make me the coolest little mini quilts. She also sent me a rubber stamp set, some chocolate goodies, and some fabrics. What a bunch of booty!

Sorry, I haven't posted an update yet, so much to do around here. I haven't even been online much. Can you believe that? I have so many threads I STILL need to catch up on. Nichol, I understand completely! I have those moments a lot myself and your right the lightbulb story was a way better reason lol. I have broken one of those too, many times I have learned to hold my breathe and not suck in any of that stuff that comes out of them! Ok, well, I am headed off to bed. Much to do tomorrow. I will try my best to get this update posted tomorrow. G'night all. :) Fran

LOL Lars, I was thinking I might have to explain :) The little plush dog was taken hostage by my 12 year old Golden when my back was turned. She managed to reach up and and in a very agile, and silent manner, grab it without me having a clue. The other items was the Red Hots candy. I was having trouble coming up with a theme, and then found one of Brenda's posts that mentioned Red Hots. Instant theme, but Red Hots are very difficult to find in this area, although I *knew* I had seen them. The store I wandered into was a Dollar Store :)

Why, Fran? I don't understand, I guess. I've been really pleased with all the Flickr swaps I've been in, mostly. Only twice have I gotten something that's "not me" or shabby. Usually what I receive blows me away with its coolness. But more than that, the fun we have during the swaps is very entertaining.

Oh! That is really clever!!! I've never seen anything quite like it. Did she design it herself? I can appreciate how difficult it was,,,, mini's are tricky. What a treasure for you, Flamingo!

Could you give a link for the one you sent her? Thanks.

That is super cute! I think it's great when the swappers really take their partner's likes and dislikes into account... it looks like both of you really did! Not to mention the creativity and time you both put into the projects.

I meant I don't get involved in swaps because I could never make something that cute and creative...not that I am concerned that I won't like what I get.

Wow! That is so cleaver and cute. It is a perfect fit!

The path she has leading up to the castle door looks like the same fabric that you used for your castle.
Those are so much work!
Thank you for sharing it with us.

My partner told me she got this idea from a pop-up card.

Judy, it is the same fabric, my partner asked me for a little piece to use in her quilt and I sent it to her. I like that we both used it.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, Fran, now I understand! :)

Thanks for admiring my new little treasure, everyone!

Here is a link that might be useful: This is the one I made....
