Oh, man!!! I started today..made the stock for my dressing, injected the turkey breast to bake in the morning. Chopped the celery and onions and sauteed them.
Set up the xtra tables and chairs. Tomorrow I will set the tables, bake the turkey breast, bake the cornbread for the dressing, prepare the deviled eggs and make my banana pudding. I will probably make the macaroni and cheese. I have 25 coming. This will make my cooking much lighter for Thursday morning. We eat at 12 or as soon as everyone arrives. I am excited, I love dressing.

I think I'm ready ;o) I made the cranberry-orange sauce and the applesauce last night. This morning I cooked the cipollini onions and will do the balsamic glaze later on today. The onions, celery and sausage will be sauteed and waiting for the stuffing to be put together tomorrow morning. The root veggies will be cut up and ready to be roasted in the morning (with olive oil and herbs), along with the sweet potato and cranberry casserole, which will go in the slow cooker. The only items I'll have to make from start to finish tomorrow are the mashed potatoes and turkey. I'll also make an apple pie today, give the house a once-over, and hope for the best.

We are going to DS and DIL's for Thanksgiving dinner. She is making the turkey, dressing, ham and who knows what else! Today I'm baking a German Chocolate cake and a congealed salad to take.

We are going to Kalie's...but I am still making the meal. I made the cranberries last night, cooked the sausage and chopped the celery & onions for the dressing, made a pan of toffee bars...gotta have SOME chocolate! Also made 2 loaves of cranberry bread...one to take to Kalie's, one to give to my boss for their TG. I only work 1/2 day today, so I will make the sweet potato pie, corn bake, jello salad and probably the dressing. Dean will be smoking the turkey today, too. Everything will just have to be warmed up tomorrow! =)

I'm going to my sister's for Thanksgiving dinner. She is "supposed" to do the turkey. I have my doubts though! She gave me a long list of stuff to bring. I found out that her husbands family will be there too. About 20 of them so that reasons the long list of food items she told me to bring. I don't mind bringing things but I don't think I should provide the whole entire meal!!!
So, I told her I would bake a ham, a jelly roll and do some deviled eggs. She hadn't even told the husbands family to bring anything!
I guess she will now...LOL

I've got the turkey thawing and presalted it lastnight.
I baked bread last week, cubed and toasted it for dressing.
I baked sweet potatoes and pumpkins a few weeks back and portioned the flesh into 1c amounts. I have my amounts ready for pies to be baked today.
Today I will also chop onions and celery, maybe even make the dressing and put in the fridge. I have a batch of honey wheat rolls to make too.

Pretty much good to go..
Don't have to do company cleaning..LOL

Going to my granddaughter. I bring nothing, which I really don't mind. Will give her and my DD some$$ as they are doing all the buying and fixings. I did that for many years and appreciate them doing it now. His family will be there and kids etc and will enjoy visiting with them.

All I have to do is buy 2 bottles of Wine for the Hostess. It's funny our local Liquor Store has Senior Discount on Wednesdays. LOL!

I chopped a huge amount of celery and onion for the veggie casserole,stuffing, and the pot of soup I am making for supper. I have the Pumpkin pie bars baked and in the fridge. Cleaned house and oven yesterday.
We are changing places this year. DB always has it and I do Christmas Day. DSIL is working, their DD and family aren't coming, my DD isn't coming, so it will be small maybe 13 people.
DS and I leave at some point today to make the 8 hour round trip to pick up the Princess! Last time we saw her was for the wedding. Almost a month. Wish I knew what time we were leaving so I could pace myself accordingly! LOL Still lots to do but I will git 'er done.

We are meeting people from both sides of our families for dinner at Cracker Barrell (cheaper than the casino buffet as originally planned). We had one Thanksgiving last Sunday and another this coming Sunday... so everyone wants to take it easy on Thanksgiving day.

maryann-- Wish I were coming to your house, 'cause German Chocolate cake is pretty much my favorite food on Earth. I don't make it because I'd be the only one eating it, and that would not be a very good thing, as Martha says.
I'm running a bit behind; still have a little shopping left to do but college daughters are home and will help--yea!

I just got home a bit ago....(had to watch my grandkids this morning) Then had to turn on this machine to see what I was missing...

I've got to get off here soon and get started. I have to make at least 4 pumpkin pies, an apple desert, one of the pumpkin deserts and maybe a pan of brownies...I need some for Thursday and some for Friday....

Also will be cooking a turkey both days.

Some salad and some turkey dressing.

Oh and for Thursday I'm making some Pilgram Hats out of those choc. strip cookies and a marshmellow dipped in choc. then you pipe on a yellow frosting buckle in the front. I though the kids would love those.

Maybe I'll put them on a stick so they aren't so messy.

Just the four of us. I have a store-cooked turkey breast, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, brussels sprouts, and three desserts- pumpkin pie, apple pie and eclairs.

Not ready but, under control. Today I baked 4 pies, two pans of caramel/choc sqs. I also have two big pots of chili ready to eat when our kids arrive in a few hours. Tonight after we eat I will make the Persimmon pudding. In the morning I will make the twice baked potatoes, the potato/cheese hot dish, the Brussels sprouts and the coleslaw. We go to my brothers for dinner. He always makes the very best turkey. My SIL makes a bunch of side dishes...we eat the day away. There will be 13 of us.

No! My turkey breast isn't thawed! I finally put it in water in the sink. It will only be the two of us, I think, so what gets done, gets done. If I cook the Turkey breast on Friday, oh well!

Pretty much ready to go. We're doing ham this year instead of turkey. I've got the ham scored and studded with cloves..but, I am really tired of the usual extras we put with the ham. I have a glaze from Harry and Davids...a slightly hot concoction with red peppers, honey and peaches...but I think I'll just drown it in Coke and bake it up. Got the pies done this morning and just need to mix up the dressing and it'll be nearly done. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.....

MY PIES ARE made. (sorry! I hit the caps key). I will be doing the turkey breast and everything else on Fri. The turkey breast is thawed, finally, but we are going to DD's so her significant other doesn't have to eat there, then come over and visit here, even tho we wouldn't be mad that he didn't! He has to work today, chef at at restaraunt. Dinner will be ready when he gets home. It does make it nice that we won't be just the two of us here. I just have to do the augratin potatoes to take.

Tom is in the oven...My son is baking bread...I need to gather up the recipe for the Sweet Potato Souffle and Broccoli Rice Cheese, and I'm good to go...You'd think as many times as I've made both of those dishes I'd know them by heart but I still give a quick look at the recipe...One year I left the can of Cream of Mushroom out of the Broccoli Rice Cheese...it was edible but not nearly as good!
