As I recall, the stiffener was made by Aleene's, right, Jenni? I couldn't find it anywhere around here so Jenni helped me out. *hugging on my buddy's neck* I think you can find it online, though, the bottle is now white and pink, I think. I've also read about people using liquid starch, but I didn't try it. The biggest thing is- be sure the stiffener is completely dry before you take the balloon out, or it will collapse. I had that happen a couple of times, so I stuck another balloon inside the mess and blew it back up and then wet it again and let it dry completely again, and salvaged it. Kudzu- I nearly gave up during my first star, I just couldn't figure out the 3-D part of the star, but once I did I felt like such a doofus, lol. I guess I don't read instructions well, I do better with videos. Thanks for looking and admiring, ladies!

((Thanks)) everyone...he really loved it! First thing he did was take a photo and put it on his phone LOL! He didn't get home till quite late Sunday night so he didn't cut it till last night but said it tasted great. I'm glad he got a kick out of it and thanks again for all the nice comments. Taigen

Yes, the windowsill will be the counter material. Trying to explain the problem using thIS pic from your post. There is only 1/4" of window frame showing past the plaster on the left side. Wood jambs are typically 1/2" thick, so the jamb would be sticking over the frame and in front of the window sash 1/4" on the left side. I think that would look idiotic. The other side has 1/2" of frame so the jamb would be flush with the frame on that side which doesn't sound a whole lot better, as a little frame reveal looks nicer, IMO. We'd have to tear out the drywall on both sides of the window opening (and probably should as the other options are starting to feel really cobbled up right now) to be able to trim the window in wood or anything else and not have this problem. So, I was just going to leave it a painted hole with a window in it and call it done. But that bugged me, so I thought maybe I could turn the corner with the backsplash into the window area but that's not really grabbing me either and that stuff is 1/2" thick, too. I've seen so many pics of windows without trim that looked great, but for some reason mine doesn't seem to have the same effect. Guess I'm trying to find a way to not tear out the plastered in stuff around that window and still have it look good. Maybe there is no way. Blah.

I was so proud of those GB's! They did wonderful that day and it was a longgggg day for them! They came back here at 10 pm with 2 babysitters, we should have had one cause they all fell asleep immediately! Drew was going to go to bed in his tux and shoes he was so tired! LOL

All my pictures are so dark from the church. I didn't have time to try and lighten them up.

It was so perfect and I did all that worrying for nothing! LOL I feel dumb now.

I do have a couple more pics saved on the computer and will post them.
