I'm in Calif and we're turning the clocks back an
hour on 11/2.
(Spring forward, Fall back)

Virginia is November 2.

Clocks don't go forward in the fall.

Oh and it's November 2nd in Canada too.

Ours go back Nov. 2 as well. They used to change in October, then made it later because of Halloween so the kids weren't out in the dark so early.

Daylight Savings time does NOT end this weekend.... but on NOV 2.
It does NOT change at midnight.... but at 2AM
You do not turn the clocks forward... FALL BACK.

It wasn't changed for kids safety on Hallowe-en, it was changed for energy savings.

I hate it, it gets dark at 4:30, I'm barely getting going by 4:30...that's way too early to get dark. I can't see how anyone would enjoy darkness that early?

No, Standard time starts Nov. 2. We are still in Daylight Savings time.

Are there facts proving this does save energy? Will someone explain it to our dog, who sees it getting dark and starts lobbying for his dinner an hour early?

I'm currently on Central Daylight Saving Time and will FALL BACK an hour to Central Standard Time early morning Sunday, Nov. 2nd.

Reminds me of WW2 when we were on perpetual Daylight Savings time.

I was teaching in a rural school and the kids did farm chores, including milking, before coming to school.

Couldn't train the cows, so I started school one hour later every day.

Worked for us!!

Thanks Blfenton. I wonder about the energy savings.....the lights go on earlier in the house, street lights are on earlier, etc.

They just changed the date a few years ago, it used to be before the end of Oct. I wonder what difference a week or 2 makes with energy savings
