Daylight Saving ends. check Tvs, VCRs DVDs etc and smoke alarms

I cannot wait! I so hate waking up in complete darkness. I don't like it being dark at 5 or 6pm but can deal with that much better than the darkness in the morning.

My snow is receding and I can see some green plants along the edge of my garden!!!!!!! Still have snowbanks but they are now meeting their match. Even got out the back door today!!! We're at 6'C or 41'F and sunny. I have windows open to air the house out! Even my seedlings are happy. Almost able to get the gate open to the back yard. Still lots of snow but spring temperatures are finally pushing throw. Milkdud I could sure use some of your weather to find my garden beds! Yeah Patti, it's been slow on this board - yesterday was also a lovely day in Ottawa, my Dave suggested a nice afternoon car ride to soak up the sun and do some shopping. He got a new 3 horsepower air compressor. No more junky workshop tools, I have too many page tips folded over in his woodworking magazines!!! (He'll see them eventually). This summer he is finishing my kitchen cabinets to complete our cabinet reno. Last summer he built a pull out drawer pantry which I just love. I should be painting this afternoon - more walls but I feel like cleaning and sorting - at either rate I'll be doing something to keep moving. Got another very kind comment from a friend that I'm looking slimmer. My scales are still holding but that is just fine with me. I'll take every teaspoon a week at a time of weight loss if that's what my body wants to do. Slow and steady as they say. Also considering going through more seed packets. Now that the sun is getting stronger I can start using the back windowsills. Forgive all my garden talk - it motivates me to stay the course because I want to lose the weight so I can garden without my hip grinding. I'm also scheduled to help plant spring gardens at hotels and businesses downtown with a friend and that is grueling - 8 hour days of bending, digging and hauling plants...so more incentive to tone up. If I don't post some days - please know I'm here in spirit! Have a fantastic day today! Milkdud, I'm glad to hear your little one is on the mend.

I haven't caught up on all that is going on but I did see that Maddie is posting again. Maddie~We love watching HK. Who do you think will win? We have watched it all 3 seasons now. We are busy getting all of our dr. visits in so that we can make this trip the end of the month to TX. We are both looking forward to it very much. We can hardly wait to see DSs, DD, DGD, DGSs, etc. It should be a great trip. I'm hoping to visit with my sister some too. My blood pressure has been runnning high & Dave is having a lot of trouble with his arthritis. I have an eye infection. Yuck! DS#1 says, "It is always something!" LOL Like I don't know it. LMAO He was 29 Tues. Getting a little too big for his britches, me thinks. I've been trying to guess who I'll have for my Christmas buddy so that I can get some ideas started. LOL I know, I'm too funny. Oh, yeah, Maddie, I've always thought that being a coroner would be kinda neat too. Or maybe a forensic scientist. (Evil laugh!) Be good to yourselves b/c you deserve it. I'll try to post more tomorrow. We are still working on the 50th anniversary scrapbook. It isn't too many pages so we did 6 on Sunday & ran out of card stock. We got more today. Will try to work on it tomorrow while Dave is doing the clothes. Patti :)

Ruthie quit being so hard on yourself~~you are doing great. We are all older now and it took awhile to gain it so it will take awhile to take it off:) Do I sound like a WW's leader??? WC I cook just like you no sauces, no butter very simple I always have, that is why everyone in my family is at a good weight:) I on the other hand am a junk food, stress, worrier eater:( My DH has always worked evenings so by the time I was done running kids around and fiddling with them I just vegged on the couch and ate:( I even hid candy bars in my purse, I did not want my kids eating the sweets LOL!! OH, the bad in the taco salad was the sour cream and the guacamole a plain avacodo does not bother me, but you never know what resturants add to the guacamole to make it not turn dark. I would rather have it all on the side they just put too much on I took about 1/2 of it off. I eat taco salads alot at home too. Last night was my weigh in, I lost 1.2 pounds last week~~~~I asked how can that be I am just trying to maintain??? And I keep losing??? I have even lost count of how many extra points I get now?? I will have to ask next week. I will be a lifer by next Friday:)I got another charm for the key chain they gave me~~~you get a key chain after you lose 10% of your body weight~~then a star charm with WW on it for getting to your goal, last night I got another charm of hands clapping, for being there 16 weeks (I got it two weeks late) I will get something else next week for being a lifer:) I keep my CURVES pass on the key chain too:) I like them all, they are very nice looking:) LOL!! Last night I was so starved after WW's the time is before I usually have dinner so I do not eat before I go also thinking I will weigh less:) Usually I will get something fast food to take home, always racking my brain as to what would be OK. I got a bacon cheese burger at my fav hamburger place~~no cheese and no sauce GAWD it tasted so good! When I got it home I added my fav hot mustard and a bit of bar-b-que sauce:( YUMMERS That may be my extra points for the week once I sit and figure it out but it was worth it. I knew it was good when my cat tried to attack me to get it:) I am off to clean my house~~it is a two story so that should count for alot of exercise today:)

Yep, we'll be changing!

What states don't change??

I hate November, it's so darn dark and dreary till the snow comes to brighten things up.

Arizona and Hawaii don't change time. The Northeast corner of Arizona does change time.

We'll be happy to stop rising before the sun. I read that the year the US stayed on daylight savings year round, the latest sunrise was about 8:20 a.m. (Nixon administration experiment.)

Have you noticed how expensive 9-V batteries are now? We need four for our alarms. I've been watching for sales, coupons, whatever! Looks like one 9-V is $3.

I get up at 6 AM and it really messes me up to be up when it's still completely dark outside. My body doesn't respond well so I'm really looking forward to this change! Even a little bit of dawn makes all the difference for me.

Last Sunday morning,Oct 30, hubby woke me up to tell me "The clock in the TV is wrong." It showed 8:30, while the rest of the clocks in my house showed 9:30. I turned on the computer and it shgowed 9:30. I sort of guessed the TV was programmed years ago, and had jumped back due to Daylight Savings Time. I fixed the TV. Later, I went to my car and its clock was also an hour behind. Rather than change it twice, Oct 30 and again Nov 6, I just left it,figuring it's just easier to let it sty. Now on Sunday I'll have to re-do the TV, as well as all the regular clocks. Sigh...

Two of my VCR's did the same thing and I missed my recording of the latrst NCIS

BTW you can get the 9 volts at the dollar stores for $

I remember when the change took place before Halloween instead of after and it was so dark driving home from work and there were already so many kids on the streets and sidewalks that I was terrified I would accidentally hit one.

I kept wondering why they didn't wait until after Halloween to change the clocks...and now they do. You're welcome. :-) LOL

Jodi- who loves waking up when it's dark but also wants it to stay light until 8pm so I can go hiking after work.

Why do we even need daylight savings times anymore? Originally it was to save electricity and help the farmers in the fields.
