good thoughts for dgs & dbil, please....

My 11 yr. old grandson, Wesley, was chasing a football into the street Sunday and got hit by a car. The teen driver said she thought he saw her. He was hit by the front passenger's side of the SUV and the mirror was broken off. Wes has a broken collarbone and broken arm...he told me he was so brave he didn't even cry. He went back to school today so is feeling better.

My DH's brother, James, is in ICU at Baylor in Dallas with an unidentified infection. Surgeon started to operate on his back and found a "sac" of infection on his spine. He's on IV antibiotics and waiting for an infectious disease specialist and is hoping they're giving him the right meds for whatever it is.

So, can ya'll please spare some good thoughts for little Wesley and for James? Thanks a lot!!!

I am glad your DGS was able to go back to school.

You mentioned the MRI's Does your Dr or medical center use Pet Scan? They do here as it is not as hard on some of the organs,like liver etc. and it shows more cancer. DH is getting ready to do his third one. But he also gets checked for bladder cancer. His other cancer seems to be in remission at this time. He just had a Ritouxin treatment, again not as hard as some of the other drugs he has had. I do wish you the best and the water therapy is great. They use it here also, I think. Marie

Yes, I will keep all of you posted. Patti, Mom and I did celebrate. We had a glass of wine then went to Farmer Brown's for dinner. Mom bought, because I'd helped her with her art show today. She didn't have to, but... I've been wanting/meaning to get a $75.00 gift cert. for my daughter and her DH (Nathan's parents) to Farmer Browns. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Jan. 15th, and I just forgot to pick it up. But I thought by golly they deserve to all go out and eat. Jeff, the DH/Dad is so good about winterizing my trailer every fall, and I don't have to pay someone to do it. Thanks again, Leslie

Cheryl, The Dr. showed his mom, on the 2nd MRI, the difference already, in color of the tumor. It had shrunk some, and the tumor was getting lighter, or turning back to the color of the healthy brain tissue. I sure appreciate hearing these reassuring outcomes you and Linda have had. Nathan has only had 1 'head rush' or head ache, since about the 2nd week of radiation/chemo. And that was on a river rafting camp out he went on with his church. They were playing some game where they were swung around and around. It was possibly just from that motion and just being dizzy. So that's a good sign too. He was having 8-10 'spells' a day before he was diagnosed. Again, your reply's really help. Leslie
