Sorry I got here late and I have been scouring the web trying to find out which version of Android it has on it and if it is upgradable. I have finally found it has Android 1.6 and from what I read it is not upgradable, which is a real shame. It will not do much with the 1.6 Android system. It can still be used for many things including reading books. and looking at pictures and listening to music it has quite a bit on it as it comes. You can use a usb or ethernet to it by way of a little adapter it comes with, it takes a mini sd card so you can store your books pics and tunes on there. It has a pretty low resolution so it will not be super sharp. For the price you really can't lose much if you just wanted a basic device for reading and stuff. It does have wifi and you will be able to surf and all of that including email. Where you will have problems is that many many of the apps will not work on that early version, but some do. These are older tablets from probably 2010 that is why they are putting them out there so cheap these days. It is made by pandigital the same company that made the pandigital novel that I have. here is a link to the pdf manual for it you can read more of what it can do. Manual one thing this one has the resistive type touch screen so will be a harder touch for it, you use the tip of the finger or fingernail or us the stylus. the over all reviews I have been reading are not real favorable. In todays market I am recommending Android 2.3 and higher and the higher the better Android 4.0 may be out now I know it was close to ready. So just depends on what you would want to use it for like I said.

One caveat: Too many devices drawing power (not the data signal) can overload the computer port and cause it to shut down. When that happens, about the only way I know to reactivate the port is to disconnect the items causing the overload and reboot the computer. Devices like a mouse and most thumb drives have low power requirements. But watch out for mechanical devices like high RPM disk drives and floppy drives. I've had no trouble with a 3.5 floppy drive, but a 7200 rpm hard drive (tradename Pass Port) shut down the port on an older laptop. The inrush current to start the disk spinning exceeded the port's allowable capacity and the port shut off. (If the USB port on the computer senses an over currrent draw, it automatically shuts down as a protective measure,) Some hubs do accept an exernal power supply. You may wish to consider this option if you plan to connect devices that have significant power demands, or if more than one power hunger devices will be draining current at the same time.

I got mine at Bed Bath and beyond it is priced at $99 there and I used their 20% off coupon to bring it down to seventy something which was a good price. The model I got was the GR-4N that is important because that is the newest model. Online I was finding some for cheaper but they were the older model. the new model has reversible plates so no extra plates to store and it also has a built in slide out grease tray which is much better than the earlier model which had a little cup you had to put under the front drip edge to catch the grease. I absolutely love the Griddler. I had been wanting one for a while, had done a lot of research on brands and reviews and that one really has some great reviews. I have used it almost every night since I bought it. Did veggies, panini sandwiches, burgers, steaks, boneless pork loin chops all kinds of stuff and it was all delish. Very fast cooking too. I have not used the griddle side yet. the plates just snap off and on with a button and are super easy to clean, but can go in the dishwasher. The chicken I am doing tonight I put in a ziplock bag with some olive oil, garlic salt, and Old West Mesquite seasoning mix and let it marinate in that. I use the spray olive oil on the sandwiches and meats when I cook on it which is what the directions say to do (or brush on olive oil) The pork loin chops which were close to an inch thick I sprayed with olive oil then sprinkled on ground cracked black pepper and fresh ground sea salt that is all and they were so good.
