Christmas Card Exchange reminder 10-30-10

Just a reminder that I will end the sign up period on Nov 24th, with a deadline for them to be sent out by Dec. 6th. That will give everyone plenty of time to receive them in time to decorate with them and enjoy them before Christmas.

We have 37 signed up, including me. It would be great if we got a few more to sign up.

Unfortunately, Mrsmarv has had to back out of the exchange. Hopefully, things will change and she can join us next year.

Could you please explain how this works? Sounds interesting, but I've never done it.

We sign up on Tami's email, no information on the forum, with our real name, address and email name. She then breaks the names into about 3 sets, and after a certain date mails them back, not on the forum. No addresses on the forum. You mail cards to those on your group, either commercial or homemade, no gifts. You can mail to everyone on the list, but you should mail to all in your group. Hopefully you will get cards from your list, but remember not everyone will send cards for various reasons. Just a way to touch someone and wish them Merry Christmas. If I missed something, Tami or anyone else please feel free to correct my information.

We are having Trunk or Treat at our church Sunday night. Am working on Christmas presents this weekend. Making my mom a canning jar applique lap quilt and making pincushions for the women in the family. Been playing in the garden this week, enjoying this great fall weather. Temps have been nice and cool here today in the 70's. Oh am also participating in the Round Robin November Seeds N Stitches Swap. Sign-ups are open through November 2nd for the swap. Will attach a link for it with this post. Everyone in the swap makes 1 homemade pincushion and mails it with a Thanksgiving card to a swap partner between November 3rd - 12th. They are hard to find. If you like to make your cards, they are easy to make. I have done that for a couple of years to save costs and enable me to send more cards. Rosemaryt, here is the link to my original post with all the information. Like Marie said, email me with your kt name, real name and address. If you want to use a different email address, tell me that, also. Last day to sign up is Nov 24. I will email the list out that weekend, probably by Thanksgiving. Please join us!

Gramzieinmd signed up also. that makes 38 counting me!

Tami, for those who do have to drop out, could you with there permission put them in a seperate section, so if we wish to do so, we still can send cards? Almost like a Merry Christmas--thinking of you?

I plan on signing up..but going to have to get this computer font fixed before I even attempt it.
I never told anyone here but the Christmas cards really keep me going last year. It gave me something to look forward to and something to occupy my mind. I had just received a diagnosis of first lung and then when that turned out to be pneumonia then it was liver cancer..which thank goodness turned out to be a QUACK Nurse Practitioner.
But it was a miserable December made brighter by thoughts from friends... Ok enough mushy..

Littlebit, I am so glad to hear that we made your December brighter last year. And that you were mis-diagnosed! That was the one time that mis-diagnosis was a good thing.

As for adding those who need to back out, that is up to them. I will be happy to do that if they agree. I have the addresses. I would just need to put them in a different place on the list. Not hard!
