Yeah, Michael really dropped the ball. Laura's collection was better than I was expecting--more variety with her look than I was led to believe. Uli's was fine I guess. Michael's? Some stuff kind of was pretty. I dunno. It was just a very disappointing experience. Don't know if I'll bother with next season. They're getting too close to jumping the shark. I hope Laura goes on to greater things or at least gets her stuff out there. Given an infinite amount of free time I'd like to go through the season and tally up the number of times people were criticized for making something that didn't look like "them" and the number of times they were criticized for making something that looked "predictable." But then I guess when you sign up for a "reality" show you're pretty much asking to be jerked around.

Christian's girl was a total PITA!!! Did you see the part where she was all "you know you love me!" I thought he held it together pretty well, cause I think I would've smacked her at that point! Yes, he's young and probably needs to develop his tact and negotiation skills--that really showed last night. He didn't know how to counter her with his ideas. As for the rest of the time, I think he's funny. I don't think he's necessarily a Jeffrey or Santino. There have been moments where after he said something totally snotty, you see him cracking up at himself. And Kevin said in his exit interview that he went to Christian for help all the time, which implies that Christian was willing to help him enough that Kevin felt it was okay to ask for help that often. I think they're using creative editing to only show part of his sense of humor; they're not showing much of the part where he laughs at himself. After all, we must have a villian! Everyone is being too cooperative this season! *gag me* Anyway, I just had to defend Christian a bit. I think he's funny.

I was very disappointed with all this year's finalists. The clothes were NOT that creative, most were versions of stuff you could find in pretty much any Penney's or Boscov's anywhere in the country. They were nice enough clothes, but definitely not the makings of a collection to start a new career. I've only watched the past 3-4 years, but felt that as a whole, this was the least innovative group of designers I've seen yet on the show. Some weren't even skilled at clothing construction--when you can see the mistakes through the TV screen, it's bad indeed. As to who won? what choice did they really have? the line wasn't that creative, but it was the best one they had to go with, unfortunately.

I did think Josh grew a LOT in his design ability and in his being more able to get along with his fellow designers, at first wow what a you know what! His collection on the run way was interesting I was not crazy about it. I thought Viktor should have won his stuff is impeccable, those prints that he made himself were amazing. I think he hurt himself by adding all the black sheer stuff on the last few days and leaving off the other stuff that the judges had all liked. I think he will be very successful. I was never very impressed with Kim's clothes, one or two here and there but in general nothing spectacular and that bubble but skirt OMG who on earth would wear that?? what woman goes shopping thinking hum I want to find a skirt that makes my butt look huge?? That was crazy. Anya really grew a LOT, for someone who could not even sew at the beginning wow big steps. I loved her colors, fabrics, patterns, love the cut and flow she really is good at that type of work but as they said can she do anything else one does not live on caftans alone. I did not think she should have won. But I love her stuff and would buy it if I was going on vacation to a beach somewhere! I just hope she can expand her style. I agree I can see handbags and jewelry since she was constantly wearing earrings she had made.
