Well back from the hospital this afternoon.....

Well when I went in to the dr for a regular check on Thursday my blood pressure was up and I have so much edema my legs look like tree trunks.It took 2 pokes until they could get blood from me and luckily it all looked good. So I was on orders to stay off my feet and to watch my blood pressure and vision. Yesterday my vision went blurry and my blood pressure shot up to 170/96. So they had me come in to the hospital for blood work and to monitor they baby. Unfortunately they forgot to tell me that I was going to have to stay at least overnight. Let us just say that I was a basket case then.

So they found a trace of protein in my urine and I get to be lucky enough to collect and save my urine for 24 hours and then take it to the lab. I am on blood pressure medication. It is surprising how quickly my pressure went back to normal and also the ammount of swelling that has gone down. Dr. said that I absolutely couldn't be alone with the kids. My mom took the kids home and are bringing back Rhiannon because she has preschool this week. So I am on complete bed rest except to eat or go to the bathroom for the next week. I am trying to line up helpers for the next few weeks. They mentioned that we could do an amnio on Friday to see if the baby is ready yet and then do an early c-section because of the dangerous blood pressure, swelling, headaches and slight contractions.

So if you have a chance say a prayer for us. We need the baby to stay in for at least another week, the longer the better. I will keep everyone updated.

You got it Stacie!! Curl up with a good book and some movie rentals and try to enjoy the time. I know it's hard, but you're doing that little baby a great favor by taking it easy.

. I just got one. Sorry , no babies on it.First the Agave you asked for an ID on is Agave Blue Glow. Their are several leonotis plants . I gave a plant of Leonotis mentholatum to Shirley . It is taller with curled leaves. Hint ,... It grows from cuttings and you know where Shirley lives.. another of L. leonurus's common names is Wild Dagga. It is used as a narcotic in Africa. Looks like a Madrone tree to me. The bark changes color according to how it peels and the time of the year. Maybe the growing conditions also cause a difference in colors. The succulent dish has the round leafed edged in red plant called Kalanchoi luciae.

Patches, first, you both have my prayers. Secondly, ask if there is a dr in the area that can do radio frequency ablations. I didn't go back to your page to see where you are. I know that my mom is a diabetic, with many other health problems. She developed a mass on/in one kidney three years ago. Instead of having to remove the kidney, one of her urologists sent her to metro health hospital in Cleveland, OH for this procedure. Instead of only having one remaining kidney to rely on, she still has use of half of the one with the mass, plus the healthy kidney! They kept her over night due to her other health issues, but it is a simple procedure, that many people go home the same day. Very uninvasive, with only one or two small incisions. I don't know if they would do it for the stones but it would work for the cyst. It was/is considered experimental for kidneys, but is approved for liver cancer. Her dr said it would be great for small areas of breast cancer also. It doesn't work for large areas, but is wonderful for small areas. We can't say enough good stuff about this procedure. My mil is coming over today to help with Rhiannon (5) and Rhiannon is such a good helper, her and grandma are going to make cookies and go through clothes. We could get 6 inches of snow tomorrow through Thursday, just what I need. DH has to be out in it Thursday to supervise a football game. I have been taking my blood pressure with a cuff and it is still high. I went next door to borrow their bp machine and it was 152/101. I am going to call in to the Dr's to see if they can write a prescription so that I can keep track of my blood pressures over the next week at home. I don't want it to get too high and I am 20 miles from the hospital. Then again reading it all the time may make me more anxious, but I would rather have an accurate reading to keep Dr's updated. You have my prayers Stacie! DDIL just went through that so I know where you are coming from.She endured it for almost 3 weeks because she wanted to give the babies just a little longer.

I am about an hour west of Grand Island so a little jaunt for you:)

My oldest is at home (5) she has preschool and is a good helper for me and can entertain herself. Also have someone coming to stay today and my mil is coming over tomorrow and after school on Wednesday my mom will come and get Rhiannon for the weekend.

We haven't decided but may go for the amnio on Friday and if the baby is ready have the c-section early because of the toxemia and my blood pressure. If I can get off bed rest at 37 weeks I will go ahead and wait for the c-section. We went through this decision last year with Hayden and I told myself that if it happened again I would go with the later date, but that was because of contractions on things that could hurt the baby.
