Oh Laura! How awful and scary .I know how difficult it will be to give up coke and cigarettes. I know you had some dental concerns and I am wondering if that might impact this recovery. Just breathe deep and tell yourself you can do it.

Sending you a cyberhug, and lots of prayers. I know how hard it is to give up the smokes...but you will be so glad you did (I'm in my tenth year of being smoke-free). Take care of yourself and get lots of rest. And take lots of deep breaths to help with the nicotine urges. Hugs!

I didn't think you could have carbonated beverages after a gastric bypass....

Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes. I will be bringing my laptop in the house most of the time now, since the garage was where my office was...I think I will spend the next few days disassembling the whole office, since that is where I smoked. I look at it this way, instead of spending money on a new desk and chair I will see about a new vanity style type desk for our bedroom.

I'm not a believer in prayer but I offer my best wishes for a speedy return to good health and success with quitting smoking. The first is up to your doctor, the second is up to you but the consequence of this, something you can accomplish on your own, is huge. Stick to it, you're worth it!

Sorry to hear about your ordeal! I think dis-assembling your garage office is a VERY good idea since you've associated it with smoking! My DH smoked for 40 years, and he now uses an E-Cig. He rarely has a real cigarette anymore, and I'm so thrilled! Good luck, and heal quickly. Prayer for your continued success.

Laura smoking just doesn't make any sense...as hard headed as I am and as long as I smoked, I finally managed to do it so I know you can...Lung cancer got me too...I was one of those that said to myself...I'll be one of the lucky ones..cause I don't smoke that much and I'll quit long before I get lung cancer ...I did quit long before I got it but it got me any way and you better quit because even if cancer doesn't get you copd and emphysema and all kinds of other ugly things will get you ..quit dam mit..Good luck and get well soon..sending prayers

Laura, I wondered why you had been so quiet lately.

Dismantling your "office" is a good idea but remember you just had surgery. Let your family do that for you.

I would come see you but I have a kidney stone that will not pass. The pain pills just make me sleep all the time.
